The Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons
WILPF US continues its decades-long campaign to abolish nuclear weapons. The January 22, 2021, Entry Into Force (EIF) of the (TPNW) was a cause for celebration by the thousands of peace activists who have been pressing for the abolition of these terrible weapons of mass destruction. The EIF occurred once 50 countries had promised that they would not allow anything to do with nuclear weapons on their territory. Now 68 countries have ratified the TPNW and more ratifications are expected.
Between January 20th and 23rd WILPF will be celebrating the second anniversary of the EIF. Read about more actions you can take to bring attention to this anniversary in our January eNews article.

Through January 27! Participate in Actions Seeking an End to the War in Ukraine
Please – do double duty during January because the war in Ukraine continues. WILPF is a member of the Peace in Ukraine coalition, and we are sponsoring actions all over the USA from now to January 27th. You can read this list of actions to find one close to you. (Just scroll down a little!)
We urge you to hold rallies or lobby at your Congressional representatives’ offices and to table at your local farmers markets or other gathering places.
Whatever actions you participate in, please take photos and post them on our WILPF SMART Facebook group. Send a short report to disarmchair@wilpfus.org. If we get it by January 24, we can include your actions in an article in the February eNews.
