Practicing Hope on Purpose:
Through the Baptism of Christ

Matthew 3:13-17

Join us on the First Sunday after Epiphany as we continue to explore our Stewardship theme: Practicing Hope on Purpose. This Sunday we will read Matthew’s account of the Baptism of Christ and how it began Jesus’ ministry on this earth. We then will ask how does our own baptism reflect the call of Christ and the call on our own lives? Join us as the Chancel Choir is back to help lead us in worship.

The Narrative Project

Reading Circles Forming Now

Two stories dominate American Christianity: one of decline, another of power yoked to nationalist extremism. The Narrative Project of The Christian Century magazine makes space for a truer telling – stories of faith that are alive, generous, and rooted in love. Our congregation has been selected to join churches nationwide in monthly reading circles beginning late January or early February. Together we will read, meet in small groups, and reflect on our faith. Participants receive a one-year subscription to The Christian Century. Interested in being part of a group?

Stewardship Is Off and Running

This is the notable time of year when we discern our 2026 annual gift to the church. To meet our proposed budget, we must have an increase in pledge dollars of 3.5% as well as a one-time gift again this year of $50,000 – hopefully the last time. Be sure to read every word in the Stewardship materials (arriving within days by mail) because you are going to LOVE it! Truly, we are at a milestone in our annual budget planning so please be sure to read the article about our financial future.

Star Word

Pick one up in the Link!

On Epiphany, we remember how a Star guided the Magi to the place where they found the Christ child. In keeping with their journey to move closer to Jesus, we invite you to move through the year with intention and in prayer. Pick up a Star Word envelope with instructions at church, or request the church office mail you one. Place your Star Word in a prominent place in your home or work and pay attention to where it shows up in your life. Allow the word on the star to be lens through which you look for and listen to God in our life. All year long.
