Public Service Preparing for Winter Weather
This month, you may see city snow plows on the road. Rest assured, there is no winter weather in the forecast! Staff with the City of Beavercreek’s Public Service Division will be driving snowplows throughout October to familiarize themselves with routes, refresh their techniques, and identify clearance issues, such as trees and vegetation that require trimming. If you happen to see them on the road, please remember to give them ample space!

Try a Truck & Beavercreek Township Fire Department Open House
Saturday, October 5 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Municipal Maintenance Facility, 789 Orchard Lane
This event is sure to bring out the kid in everyone! Explore a variety of trucks and vehicles, including snowplows, fire trucks, police cruisers, front loaders, and more.
The first hour, from 10 to 11 a.m., will be sensory-friendly, with no lights or horns. Special thanks to Day Air Credit Union and Metronet for supporting this event!
In honor of Fire Prevention Week, the Beavercreek Township Fire Department will also host an open house at the same time next door at Fire Station 61, 2195 Dayton-Xenia Road. Explore department trucks and equipment, enjoy chili from the department’s chili cook-off, and watch as Premier Health’s CareFlight makes a landing!

Tree Hike

Join the City of Beavercreek’s Parks, Recreation & Culture staff and the Tree Advisory Board for a one-mile family-friendly hike around Fox Run Park learning about trees and how to identify them. We’ll look at the leaves, bark, and branching patterns of common trees to the area, discuss their benefits to our ecosystem, and why you might choose them in your own landscape.
