“Prayer is responding to God, by thought and by deeds, with or without words” (BCP, p. 856)

Prayer takes many forms. Some are quiet and contemplative; others are active, embodied, and creative. HERO ACADEMY VBS: SERVING LIKE THE SAINTS

Monday, June 22-Friday, June 26

9:00 am – 12:00 pm

Inspired by the lives of saints like Francis and Martin of Tours and Therese and Catherine, St. John’s Hero Academy VBS invites children to consider how following Jesus’ call to love and serve others is the most heroic thing of all. Children will create projects in the Hero Maker Design Studio, play high-energy games in the Gamer’s Gauntlet, hear stories of the faithful in the Hero Archives, and relax with a treat or two and the Holy Hero Cafe? All the while, they will discover that we can indeed serve like the saints!

This year, we are partnering with the 3rd Street Boys and Girls Club once more and hope to show God’s love and care to even more children than last year! But this means that WE NEED YOUR HELP! IF you would like to volunteer to help with VBS, read the volunteer descriptions HERE. Then sign up next to your desired work area with your name and availability HERE.

Common Ground Community Garden

All sorts of things are springing up at Common Ground, never mind that we have not seen the last of the colder days of the year. Witness Monday's short-lived blanket of snow! Our little peach tree was the first to bloom out during those warmer days. Hope that little bee found shelter nearby for a few more days.

Don't forget to mark your calendars for Spring Cleanup at Common Ground, Saturday, April 18, at 9 am (or whenever you can join us). We could use the help!
