Unveiling Exciting Real Estate Course at the 2024 IAA Convention

The excitement is building as we gear up for the 75th anniversary of the Iowa Auctioneer’s Convention, slated to take place at the Sheraton Hotel in West Des Moines this January. Mark your calendars for an event that promises to surpass the high standards set by previous years.

Real Estate Courses: January 25th

We’re thrilled to announce that, as a precursor to the Convention, we’ll be offering exclusive real estate courses on January 25th. These courses cater to anyone involved in real estate sales, whether auctions, traditional listings, or those venturing into the industry.

Continuing Education Credits

What’s more? These courses are eligible for continuing education credits from both the National Auctioneers Association and the Iowa Association of Realtors. Auctioneer Contest Returning To State Fair 2024

During our meeting on November 6th, 2023, we discussed the success of this year's state fair fundraiser for the Iowa Blue Ribbon Foundation. Thanks to your dedication and hard work, we were able to raise $3,000 for the foundation. The support from fair goers and the association members was truly remarkable.

However, one element was missing from this year's event – a contest. We received feedback from many fair goers expressing their interest in seeing a contest as part of the program. Taking their suggestions into consideration, the board of directors held a vote and unanimously decided to host the preliminary round of the auctioneer contest at our upcoming Conference as we have done in the past.

At the Conference, we will name the top 5 contestants who will then proceed to the state fair on August 13, 2024, to compete for the title of champion. This new format, which reduces the number of contestants from 20 to 5, will allow for a longer duration at the fair for our past champions, members, and children. It presents a wonderful opportunity for them to raise funds for the Blue Ribbon Foundation by stepping behind the microphone and showcasing their auctioneering skills.

We are thrilled to see the enthusiasm and excitement among our members who are eager to participate in selling at the state fair without the added pressure of a contest. This change not only benefits our members but also aligns with our goal of supporting the Blue Ribbon Foundation and its important work.

We encourage all members interested in this years contest to start preparing for the preliminary round, which will take place at our Conference on January 27th, 2024. For more details regarding the contest rules, judging criteria, and registration visit our website

Thank you for your continued support and dedication to the Iowa Auctioneers. Together, we can make the 2024 auctioneer contest and state fair fundraiser an even bigger success than before. If you have any questions or suggestions, please do not hesitate to reach out to us.
