Please continue to pray for Dunya. Her surgery was on February 20th. The surgery was 10+ hours plus preop time; we estimate almost 12 hours. She is showing great signs of recovery, but she still is in a serious recovery time.
Dr. Stephen Dersch, an ORH Lead Physician, was able to stay through the second day of post-op with Dunya and her family. The second post-op day, which is often the hardest day, went well, and she made progress but not as much as the first post-op day. She worked with a Physical Therapist and was able to sit in a chair for over an hour.
Today word came from her translator that she has been moved from ICU to a step-down room. She is doing breathing exercises with a hand-held device. She is doing well, but prayer is needed that she will progress.
Pray for the translator and his wife as she delivers a baby girl in about 30 days.
We are thankful you made it possible for ORH to bring both families into the US from Afghanistan. Please continue to pray for Dunya.
