Sentinel BC5/IC5: Focused Leak Testing, Simplified

When you need a simple, streamlined instrument for single-technology leak testing, the new Sentinel BC5 and IC5 deliver.

Watch this video to see how these latest additions to the Sentinel 5-Series family bring focused functionality to single-technology leak testing applications—giving manufacturers the core capabilities they need without unnecessary complexity.

Built on the proven Sentinel 5-Series architecture, both instruments feature the latest fifth-generation user interface, multiple stored test programs, and the connectivity needed for integration into modern test stations.

Configure the test. Run the test. Evaluate the result. Communicate the result. Just focused, simplified leak testing.

OT Zero-Day Can Take Down a Database Without You Knowing It's There

Ridge Security researchers recently discovered CVE-2026-42542, a high-severity vulnerability in TDengine, a time-series database used in industrial IoT, manufacturing, energy, connected vehicles and other environments that rely on machine and sensor data. The basic problem involves an unauthenticated attacker being able to crash a TDengine server with a single malformed packet. No credentials, session or user interaction are required. Ridge has not yet observed exploitation or identified any attack IOCs. However, AI-aided vulnerability discovery and chaining have substantially changed the security equation, and the pace of exploitation is only expected to increase.

Manufacturers Seek a Circular Economy

The past few years have been a stress test for manufacturing supply chains. Export controls, commodity price spikes, geopolitical disruption, and competition for critical materials have exposed how quickly constraints on essential inputs can slow growth. As a result, linear production models based on the availability of abundant and predictable resource flows are less viable. Instead, many manufacturers are shifting to more circular production models.

Robots Today: Are Humanoid Robots Overhyped?

Humanoid robots may be one of the most visible areas of robotics development, but their ultimate role in manufacturing could depend less on their resemblance to people and more on whether that form is actually appropriate for the work. In the debut episode of Robots Today, a new companion series to ASSEMBLY’s The Future Is Robotic, International Federation of Robotics President Jane Heffner discusses where humanoids could fit on factory floors and where manufacturers may be better served by other forms of automation.

Why Physical AI Needs More Than Machine Vision

As robotics engineers work to give robots greater dexterity, Pressure Profile Systems (PPS) is developing tactile sensing technology designed to capture something machine vision cannot: how objects feel when they are touched and manipulated. PPS, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, was founded in 1996 by Dr. Jae Son after he completed a Harvard thesis titled “Integration of Tactile Sensing and Robot Hand Control.”

Effective Daily Huddles: the Importance of Accountability

A daily huddle without accountability is a daily huddle that is doomed to disappoint. So say John Dyer and Dr. Mohamed Saleh, cohosts of the Behind the Curtain: Adventures in Continuous Improvement. This episode continues the pair’s exploration of lean tools and the behaviors that make them work. This week’s tool is the daily huddle, and accountability is the behavior behind it.
