Traffic Safety (continuing updates)

As many have likely noticed, our Board has recently installed speed bumps at the intersection of Atrivedo and Ensueno on a trial basis. This decision comes in response to several residents' concerns about unsafe conditions at that location, particularly due to speeding vehicles.

Roads within Sincuidados are approximately 25 feet wide and lack sidewalks, meaning that residents frequently walk along the roads with their spouses, children, dogs, and other family members. With trucks, contractors, and even fellow residents contributing to speeding issues, it has become critical to address these safety concerns on roads that already have limited space for two cars to pass.

While we understand that some may find speed bumps inconvenient, safety is our top priority. Other communities and commercial areas have successfully used speed bumps for years to slow traffic and create a safer environment. We encourage all residents to share their feedback, and we will continue to collect and review input, with plans to update the community on the trial later this year. Your thoughts are essential as we strive to keep Sincuidados a safe and enjoyable place for all.

Pima Road Project: 6-Month Progress Update

In mid-February, the Pima Road Committee held an informational meeting regarding the City of Scottsdale’s plan to widen Pima Road from Dynamite Blvd. to just past the Las Piedras entrance. The project aims to add two lanes in each direction with a landscaped median, but the current plan terminates midway through Sincuidados' frontage, potentially causing prolonged disruptions by splitting the work into two phases.

The Pima Road Committee has advocated for a revised project scope to complete the widening in one phase, suggesting the project either end North of Lone Mountain Road or, more likely, South of Dixileta Road. Fortunately, the original completion target has been pushed back from Fall 2025, and planning is ongoing. This delay keeps the possibility open for the city to consider these changes, especially as a study on the Rawhide Wash crossing was recently restarted with a six-month timeline.

Over the last six months, the Pima Road Committee has met with the City of Scottsdale staff to discuss concerns, and city officials have expressed openness to further dialogue. The committee will continue to engage with the City and provide residents with updates as the project progresses.

Bulk Trash Pickup

Due to the Road Project work that will commence on October 1st, the contractor has contacted the City of Scottsdale to request that bulk trash be picked up on September 30th. This is an effort to ensure the City trucks do not damage our newly sealed roads.

**Note: Please keep all brush and trash away from the street and concrete ribbon.

Political Signage

With the 2024 election in November, please note the following rules from the Sincuidados Architectural Design Guidelines:

  1. Size Limit: Political signs, individually or collectively, must not exceed nine (9) square feet in total area.
  2. Display Timeframe: Political signs may only be displayed starting 71 days before an election and must be removed no later than 15 days after the election, or within any other timeframe permitted by law.
  3. Content Restrictions: Political signs cannot include any profanity, discriminatory text, or content based on race, religion, sex, familial status, or national origin, in line with state and federal fair housing laws.

The Board has the discretion to determine whether a sign's content violates these rules.
