Shelf Life: History Edition

We love hearing from our patrons and community, especially when they share their favorite library memories and stories. Even though it's not September yet (hello, National Library Card Sign-Up Month!), we'd like to share a couple of special card-related stories, both past and present.

Library patron Sarah shows off her first TCFL library card.

Sarah shared with us a photo of her very first Talbot County Free Library card, which she believes she first signed up for when she was around 4 or 5 years old. A dedicated library patron, Sarah's card is well loved, and we couldn't be happier to see it!

Staff at the Easton Branch were recently visited by Easton's new Town Manager, Andy Kitzrow, and Easton Town Council member, Robert Rankin, who came to enjoy a library tour and sign up for their first TCFL cards. While their cards might not be quite as well-loved as Sarah's (yet!), we're happy to welcome them to our library community.

While we are excited for Library Card Sign-Up Month, Maryland residents can sign up for a card anytime - whether you're signing up a young reader, or joining us as an adult, TCFL is here for every chapter of your life - we can't wait to see you!

Have a story or memory you'd like to share? Send us an email at librarymemories@tcfl.org - anonymous submissions accepted also!
