Butter Braids Fundraiser Success!
Recently, the West Bridgewater Parent-Teacher Organization hosted their annual Butter Braids fundraiser. They ask people to participate every year to raise money for school programs and general improvements to help foster a wonderful environment for their children to learn. This fundraiser also helps support things such as Butterfly kits for PK, school supplies for Kindergarten, noise-cancelling headphones for students to use, and so much more!
This year, the PTO was able to raise over $3500! The top three sellers were Aubrey Hutchings, Rylan Mavilia, and Maxwell Paolini; all were from kindergarten classrooms. Each top seller will receive a gift card to a fun local business, an incentive made possible by the PTO’s sponsor, Tri-Towne Barbers. Congratulations, guys!
|
|
Another recent endeavor from the PTO has been their school Book Fairs, a big hit at the end of March! They've posted many pictures on the WBPTO FB page, so check them out to see how much joy a few books can bring.
Thank you to all who made their fundraiser and book fairs successful! If you'd like to help WBPTO enhance our children's educational experience, check out their FB page for opportunities. There's WB merchandise, and they are always looking for volunteers.

Historical Tidbit:
1984 The Climber Yearbook
Senior Superlatives
|
No matter how fondly you look back on your high school years, there's a chance you’ve taken a peek at your yearbook at some point after graduating. For many high schools, a staple of the yearbook is the senior superlatives, voted on by students, for students. This tradition has been in place for decades, allowing us to peek into the lives of students from a lifetime ago and see how we aren’t too different from those who studied a lifetime before us.
This week, we look at WBHS's 1984 yearbook, “The Climber,” senior superlatives where you can see gems like: "Most Talented: Bob Sigren and Clare Cronin" and "Most Argumentative: Jeff Fontaine and Becky Moore" and some fabulous hair styles. Enjoy!

Childhood, Children, Childlike.
This week I wallow in the memory of it. Being a child, being childlike, playing with my children, playing with neighborhood children. As the weather gets warmer I hear their joyful shouts, playing nearby, through my open window. What a gorgeous sound!
“Sweater, n. Garment worn by child when its mother is feeling chilly.” ~ Ambrose Bierce, The Unabridged Devil's Dictionary
“There's nothing more contagious than the laughter of young children; it doesn't even have to matter what they're laughing about.”
~ Criss Jami, Killosophy
“When a child loves you for a long, long time, not just to play with, but REALLY loves you, then you become Real.” ~ Margery Williams Bianco, The Velveteen Rabbit
“Life is a process during which one initially gets less and less dependent, independent, and then more and more dependent.” ~ Mokokoma Mokhonoana

When I was a child, I worried a lot! As a parent, I worried more. Time now to play! So if you see me hooting and skipping, pay no mind, I'm just making up for lost playtime. ~ Jacquie
