Today’s email is a follow-up to our previous message around the University-Sponsored housing options for upperclassmen. We’re writing today to ask that you ensure you’ve reviewed this information and considered the possibility of a change for your roommate group to move to Crowne Apartments or Deacon Station.
We are currently seeking volunteers to move to these properties and want to give preference to students who want to move. For students who want to have a private bedroom, these properties might be especially attractive. In the event we do not get enough volunteers, it is likely that we will need to relocate some roommate groups to the remaining vacancies in the Crowne Apartments and Deacon Station, which are normally occupied by juniors or seniors.
As a reminder, students living University-sponsored housing at Crowne Apartments or Deacon Station:
Will NOT be required to sign a private lease; they will instead sign the University’s housing agreement (a 10-month agreement, not a 12-month lease).
Will follow our standard opening and closing dates.
Be charged for their housing via their University student account, including the application of scholarship/financial aid funds toward housing.
Charges for these complexes include utilities for the apartment.
Additional information about University-sponsored housing can be found at https://rlh.wfu.edu/housing/university-sponsored-housing/. Finally, we would note that with the rise in University-sponsored options for the coming year, particularly at Deacon Station, we expect to provide residents the chance to feel a part of a Wake Forest community within each complex.
If after reviewing this information, your roommate group feels that University-sponsored housing at Deacon Station or the Crowne properties would be a better fit for the 21-22 Academic Year, please reach out to Kristy Eanes (eaneska@wfu.edu) by next Tuesday (July 6th) at 5:00 p.m. EST and she will work with you to change your selections for the coming year.
As always, let us know if you have any further questions at housing@wfu.edu or 336.758.5185.
Best-
