“Lord, Make Me An Instrument of Your Peace"

October 12, 2026

From the Desk of Mrs. Renee Gallagher, Principal

SAL Parents:

A Week Full of Fun, Faith, and Blessings!

On Friday, our 3K, 4K, and 5K students enjoyed a wonderful day at the pumpkin patch! They listened to a story, created a fun craft, took a hayride, and each chose a pumpkin to bring home. The weather was beautiful, and the children enjoyed building classroom friendships in a special new setting. A big thank-you to all the parents who were able to join us for this fun-filled outing!

Today, our students in grades 1–8 enjoyed a fruitful and faith-filled day at Holy Hill. The students reverently prayed the Stations of the Cross, attended Mass, and learned about the history of this beautiful and sacred place.

Some of you may already know that Fr. Tony’s uncle, Fr. Nicholas Zimmer, commissioned the creation of the Stations of the Cross on the grounds of Holy Hill. Fr. Tony brought along and shared some of his uncle’s sacramentals, making the experience even more meaningful.

The fall colors visible from the bridge between the chapel and the basilica were stunning! The children took notice of the beauty surrounding them, and I overheard several visitors comment on the wonderful behavior of our students. It was truly a blessed day filled with prayer, learning, and appreciation for God’s creation.

Catholic Schools Walk

For our special walk on Friday please have your child wear St. Anthony on the Lake spirit wear and out of uniform bottoms. Also, please consider walking our school grounds with your child from 1:30- 2:00. We will meet outdoors by the Fellowship Doors and end our walk near the main church doors.

Please Keep Pope Leo and His Care Team in Your Prayers

Novena for Pope Leo XIV

Heavenly Father,

with heavy hearts and great hope in your mercy,

we lift up our holy father, Pope Leo XIV

as he prepares for surgery.

Divine physician, we ask you to be near him throughout

this time of uncertainty and waiting.

Please guide the medical team entrusted with his care.

May the nodule discovered in his lung be benign and

harmless and may his surgery be a success.

Lord, we pray for his complete healing.

Restore his health and allow him to return to

The work to which you have called him.

We are grateful for the gift of Pope Leo

and the witness of his faith. If it be you will,

grant him many more years to shepherd Your church.

Our lady, please wrap Pope Leo in your mantle.

St. Augustine, please intercede for him.

St. Joseph, patron of the universal church, pray for us.

Amen.

Follow with 1 Our Father, 1 Hail Mary, & 1 Glory Be for 9 days.

With faith and gratitude,

Principal Renee Gallagher

CATHOLIC SCHOOLS WALK

This Friday, October 16th, from 1:30–2:00 p.m., students will participate in a fun walk around campus to help raise funds to support the important mission of Catholic education. As we walk a loop around our school grounds, we will make five stops along the way. At each station, we will pause to reflect on the teaching of St. Francis of Assisi. These teachings will give us meaningful topics to chat about and reflect upon as we continue our walk with friends, family, and members of our school community. Mark your calendars and feel free to walk our beautiful campus with us in support of all the amazing opportunities that take place here at SAL! Preregistration is appreciated.

We will be out of uniform on Friday in our SAL spirit wear!

EDC Billing August & September

Families who used EDC in the months of August and September will see two separate charges in FACTS this October. The August bill will pull on October 17th and September bill on October 26th. Moving forward, billing will occur monthly on the 15th. Thank you!

TRUNK OR TREAT

Join us October 23rd for our annual Trunk or Treat Boo Bash Event on October 23rd! Here is the link to register. If you would like to volunteer, please sign up here. See you there!

HALLOWEEN DRESS UP AT SAL

This year, we will continue the tradition of wearing costumes here at SAL. All students are invited to be out of uniform on Friday, October 30th. Students in grades K3, K4, and K5 are welcome to come to school in their costumes for their morning parade and party. Please have the children wear approved out-of-uniform clothing underneath their costumes for an easy switch! Students in grades 1–8 will change into their costumes after lunch for their parade and parties in the afternoon.

When choosing a costume, please keep a few things in mind. We are a K3–8th grade campus, so please do not choose a costume that may frighten our younger students. If your costume includes a mask that completely covers your face or any accessories, those items will be used only for the parade portion of the day. And, as always, please refrain from any costumes that include any depiction of a weapon.

COSTUME PARADES

We will have two costume parades during the school day on Friday, October 30th.

The first parade is for our 3K, 4K, and 5K students. Beginning in the lobby outside their classrooms, parents are welcome to line the lobby so that they can see their child right at the beginning of the parade! Your child will head through the hallways, various classrooms, and even through the parish office! This parade will begin at 11:00 a.m. and should last approximately 15 minutes.

Our second parade will involve students in grades 1–8. Beginning at 1:00 p.m., students will participate in a hallway parade that will eventually exit the building and pass by parents gathered on our school playground. Parents will cheer and clap as they celebrate all our adorable children in their costumes! Please look for specific classroom communication regarding party logistics and item sign-ups.

KISS Day - RSVP needed

Mark your calendars for this year's K.I.S.S. (Kids Invite Someone Special) Day that will be held on Friday, November 13th. Mass will begin at 12:30pm. Following Mass is a light refreshment. There will also be time to visit student classrooms and check out our Book Fair.

Please RSVP for your family by October 30th here.

Scrip

Scrip is one of the easiest ways to raise money for St. Anthony on the Lake AND is a key part of our fundraising activities. (See this great instructional video for information on Scrip and how to get started with your orders.) Money raised from SCRIP has been used to help support the purchase of curricular resources, for tuition assistance, and classroom supplies.

So how does SCRIP work? You buy either a physical gift card or e-gift card at face value. For each purchase, both you and St. Anthony earns money back. Earnings vary based on the rebate percentage offered by that merchant but range from 1.25% to 22%. Of the rebate earned, 50% goes back to the school and the other 50% is distributed at your discretion to one of the following:

· Credited to your family’s (or another family’s) tuition in the following academic year

· Donated to St. Anthony’s on the Lake School

· Donated to St. Anthony’s on the Lake Choir

· Paid to you as a cash rebate (2025-2026 rebate was paid out in July 2026)

Last year, some individuals earned over $300 in tuition credits and received over $400 in cash rebates!

The easiest way to purchase SCRIP is via the RaiseRight App. The RaiseRight App offers instant e-gift cards from over 1000+ merchants. You can purchase e-giftcards oftentimes in $5 increments while checking out at a store and use it instantly. For a list of merchants available through the app, visit https://www.raiseright.com/brands.

You may also purchase physical gift cards either through the app or using the Scrip To Go Order Form. The gift cards can be sent home with your child at school or picked up in the office.

Reach out to scrip@stanthony.cc for further questions.
