Milestones and Achievements:

Summer 2026 at the

Institute for Advanced Jaques-Dalcroze Studies

The Institute for Advanced Jaques-Dalcroze Studies is a selective program for six to eight students preparing to complete the Professional Certificate or aiming to earn the License d’Enseignement. Students must complete at least six weeks of on-site residency, plus 20 weeks of private online lessons in both improvisation and solfège. The main goal is to strengthen each candidate’s musicianship through movement training, Jaques-Dalcroze solfège and piano improvisation, then empower them to apply their musical skills as highly effective teachers.

We have completed the Summer Semester 2026 for Advanced Jaques-Dalcroze Studies and have a few videos showcasing the results of the three-week intensive. Uploaded are the Plastique Animée and Pedagogy Practique course results, as well as the final eurhythmics exam and even a eurhythmics lesson by Jack on 5/2, 3, and 4.

Anetta Pasternak, Ph.,D.

This year, Françoise Lombard, Jason Miller, and Jack Stevenson awarded the License d'Enseignement Jaques-Dalcroze to Dr. Anetta Pasternak, who works in the eurhythmics specialty at the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice, Poland. She also teaches in the Dance Theater Actor Specialty and leads Art Therapy courses. She specializes in interpreting 20th- and 21st-century music (plastique animée); her artistic oeuvre includes 65 movement interpretations of music and 8 original theater performances presented at home and abroad. We are so proud to have helped advance Jaques-Dalcroze Education in Poland by certifying (2017) and licensing one of Poland's outstanding music and movement educators.

Peter Merrick

Peter Merrick has moved closer to the License by providing an excellent improvisation examination. His exam was exceptionally well executed musically, demonstrating confidence and musicianship.

Steven Paszkowski

Steven Paszkowski has completed his Plastique Animée and pedagogy practicum programs, with congratulations on a well-done plastique composition and choreography. The results of both programs are available on our YouTube channel here.

Abby Olson, Michelle Lie, and Bogna McGarrigle have completed their first semester courses with honors. We now look forward to their completed plastique and pedagogy projects that include their personal compositions. Lara Liu will soon complete the Professional Certificate and then continue to work toward the License.
