Effective June 8, 2025, New York State will increase the daily compensation for jury duty from $40 to $72. As before, employers with 11 or more employees are required to pay this amount for the first three days of an employee’s jury service. For smaller employers, the state will continue to provide the daily payment.
For more information on how jury duty pay is administered, refer to New York’s Jury Duty Information for Employers.
Note for Exempt Employees
Exempt employees must continue to receive their full salary unless they miss an entire workweek and perform no work at all during that time. However, employers may offset any jury pay received from the state.
