Pastor Trudy's Message

Jesus falls asleep in the boat. A storm comes up and the disciples, all knowledgeable about the ways of the water and the sea, look to the sleeping Jesus and proclaim, ‘Don’t you care that we are perishing!?’. I’m wondering if they actually thought they were perishing or if something else was going on for them. We will explore together this weekend.

Mighty God, You are in charge of storms, but that doesn’t mean we are helpless.  Help us to see all the ways You care for us. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

What is a polka service and why???

• Make your church a safe place to explore big questions, troubling doubts, and honest laments. Humble our hearts to repent of the ways that communities of faith have inflicted pain or trauma.
• May your name be praised by rivers and seas, wetlands and waterfalls. Secure clean water for all people and protect water sources from contamination or exploitation.
• Amid whirlwinds of division, violence, and conflict, remind us again that you are as steadfast as the foundations of the earth. Rejuvenate peacemakers, advocates, and community organizers when they feel weary in their work.
• Deliver your people from their distress, O God. We lift before you all who are sick or struggling. Grant consolation and peace to all who live with chronic, terminal, or persistent illness. In times of affliction or hardship, sustain us in faith.
• Enfold all travelers with your protection. Bless the comings and goings of this assembly as we travel for leisure or for work. Let all journeys be met with hospitality on the way, and let community members return to us with celebration.

Receive our prayers, O God, and come quickly to our aid, through the power of the Spirit and the love of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Become part of the Parent's Day Out Staff at GLC! We are currently seeking a part time employee to join the PDO staff 10+ hours per week. Candidates will seek to nurture children ages 2-5 in activities to promote social, physical, intellectual and spiritual growth. If you have experience working or volunteering with children, this position might be for you! We follow the school District 304 calendar making this is a wonderful job for a parent with children in the school system. If interested contact Kim McKenna.

Swedish Pancake Breakfast

THIS Saturday, June 22, 8AM until the batter runs out! $9/per plate, includes 2 sausages, 2 pancakes, and coffee or juice.

Polka Worship Service

Join us THIS Sunday, June 23 at 10AM on the front lawn for our annual Polka Service! Chairs will be set up, but this service fills up fast so you are welcome to bring a chair also. Please note: 10AM is the only service this Sunday and the livestreamed service will move to Saturday, June 22 at 5PM.
