A Message from The Juniper Island Store

The official countdown to summer has started. We are weeks away from when Juniper Island comes alive!! Blythe and Bobby will be opening the store Wed, June 25th. Over the past 100 years, the store has been a staple of our community. The ASLC is proud to support this long standing tradition for all Stony Lakers to enjoy! To support its continued operations, all store account holders will require an ASLC membership. Please note cash and credit/debit can still also be used to make any in-store purchases. Programs commence June 30th so please ensure your children are set up for success at their first "store break” of the summer.

Speaking of Memberships....

New Full Day Camp

Looking to keep your 4-8 year old active, learning and engaged at Stony Lake this summer? The ASLC and SLYC have the answer: Juniper Full Day Kids Camp! Your child will learn to swim, canoe and create crafts in the morning. After a supervised lunch, it's a few steps over to the SLYC courts where they'll recieve fun instruction in tennis, pickleball, badminton and ping pong from our top-notch pros. We'll provide the racquets. Kids will make friends, learn hand-eye coordination and teamwork, and spend their summer in the great outdoors!

Welcoming Director Nominations for August 2025

Happy (Almost) Summer, Stony Lakers!

While summer felt a little late arriving this year, we're nearly there! As always, your SLYC Board and sub-committees have been busy planning a fun, active, and enriching season for the whole family. A big thank-you to everyone who’s been working hard over the winter to help make life on Juniper happen!

As I mentioned at last year’s SLYC Dinner Dance, the club is run entirely by volunteers; people who generously give their time to help us maintain beloved traditions while continuing to grow with our ever-evolving community. To keep SLYC thriving, we rely on all members to contribute in ways that make sense for them and their families. If you're someone who arrives in late June and enjoys a clinic, free play tennis, or drops your kids at sailing, we encourage you to think about how you might contribute in the future. The club truly needs you, and volunteering is also a meaningful and rewarding way to connect with others who love SLYC and the lake just as much as you do.

For those unfamiliar with the process: the SLYC Board is composed of up to sixteen Directors, each serving a two-year term. Each year, the Nominating Committee recommends a slate of Directors to the Board. That slate is proposed at the AGM in August, where club members vote to approve it. You’re welcome to nominate yourself or someone else. More often than not the Nominating Committee seeks out volunteers who may be willing to serve on the Board.

Below is a list of Director positions with terms ending at this year’s AGM and the next. If you’re interested in any of these roles, or just want to chat about how to get more involved, please reach out to a current Director or any member of the Nominating Committee listed below.
