Dear Winston Families and Students,

What an incredible Spring Showcase! It was truly wonderful to see so many families on campus, celebrating our students’ creativity, hard work, and pride in their learning. Thank you to all the alumni who joined us for our alumni event! The energy on campus yesterday truly reflected the spirit of our school community. Thank you for joining us and supporting our students as they shared what they’ve accomplished this year.

We hope you are as excited about the new campus as we are! Stay tuned for more information about our upcoming capital campaign and spring fundraising efforts. We have many exciting opportunities to keep building together for our future at Winston.

We have just one more week until Spring Break, so let’s finish strong and enjoy this beautiful season ahead!

Warmly,

Kelsey Garrison

Principal

  • Department of Rehabilitation
  • Aspiring Scholars Program at CSUSM
  • College Living Experience
  • Self Determined Futures
  • Beacons of North County

We hope you’ll join us for this informative evening and take the next step in planning your student’s path beyond high school!

Save the date for our next parent event on Tuesday, April 21. Special guest Kelly McCullough will join us and present how we can support our students' mental wellness in the digital world in which we live today. Please join us on campus for this important informational meeting.

The Winston School will be introducing several new after school programs designed to expand creativity, build connection, and keep students engaged beyond the classroom. These programs will run in two-week sessions and offer something for every interest; from art and cooking to storytelling and strategy!

Abrakadoodle Art Program

Dates: June 15 – June 26

We’re excited to partner with Abrakadoodle, a leader in creative visual arts education for kids worldwide. Since 2002, Abrakadoodle has reached more than a million children through school and community programs. Their mobile art experiences feature hands-on exploration and “process art,” where kids learn through creativity, discovery, and a little bit of messiness! Each session offers professional instruction and lesson plans that inspire imagination while meeting national standards for visual arts education.

Culinary Intensive: The Art of the Grill

Dates: June 29 - July 10

Join us for a two-week deep dive into the backyard BBQ and the art of grilling! In this two-hour daily program, students will learn meal planning, nutrition, budgeting, and of course, cooking. Under guided instruction, students will explore balanced meals and outdoor cooking techniques while developing life skills and teamwork along the way.

Winston Role Playing Group

Dates: July 13 - July 23

Hosted by our very own Winston Dungeons & Dragons club, this two-week after school adventure will introduce students to Warhammer Fantasy: Role Play, where they’ll explore the haunted ruins of Mordheim. This collaborative storytelling experience fosters problem-solving, creativity, and social connection, giving students the chance to work together through strategy, teamwork, and imagination.

We’re truly excited to offer these new opportunities for enrichment, creativity, and fun. More details about registration and scheduling will be shared soon. In the meantime, please reach out to Mr. Jacobsen if you have any questions about the programs or enrollment process. Remember, the deadline to reserve your spot for the 2026 Winston Summer School program is April 10th.
