Executive Director Transition

The Wisconsin Park & Recreation Association (WPRA) Board of Directors would like to share an important leadership update regarding the transition of our Executive Director.

After years of dedicated service to the association, Jennifer Rzepka will be transitioning from her role as Executive Director. During her tenure, Jennifer provided thoughtful leadership, strong advocacy, and unwavering support for the professionals and communities served by WPRA. While she will be stepping away from the Executive Director role, Jennifer will continue to work with WPRA in a different capacity, ensuring her expertise and commitment remain part of the association’s work. We are sincerely grateful for Jennifer’s contributions and the positive impact she has made on the association and the parks and recreation profession.

As we move forward, we are pleased to announce that Sandy Schueller will serve as WPRA’s new Executive Director. Sandy has been working with the association since 2019, most recently serving as Associate Executive Director. In that role, she has worked closely with WPRA’s sections, committees, and Board of Directors, building strong relationships with the many volunteers who help lead the organization. Through that work, Sandy has supported the association’s programs, events, and strategic initiatives while gaining a deep understanding of WPRA’s members and the profession.

Sandy looks forward to continuing to build and strengthen relationships with the membership and supporting the important work of parks and recreation professionals throughout Wisconsin. Her familiarity with the organization and dedication to member engagement and organizational growth will help ensure continuity and continued progress for WPRA.

“The WPRA Board of Directors, along with the dedicated team at ARC, work hard to support our members and the profession every day. We’re grateful to Jennifer for the leadership she has provided and the foundation she helped build for the association. At the same time, we’re excited for Sandy to step into this role. Her experience with WPRA, relationships with members, and passion for the profession make her a great fit to lead the association forward.”- Joleen Stinson, WPRA President

WPRA remains committed to empowering and supporting members by fostering professional growth, advocating for the parks and recreation profession, and enhancing the quality of life for communities across Wisconsin through education, networking, and leadership development.

On behalf of the Wisconsin Park & Recreation Association, thank you to Jennifer for her service to the association, and welcome Sandy as Executive Director of WPRA.
