"These dogs from the Bahamas have been through so much over the last week or so. All are now safe and settling in with us nicely! They are available for adoption here at Kent. Please stop in and visit us! We are open 7 days a week from 10-4," said Pam Green, Executive Director of the Kent Animal Shelter.

The special Long Island transport from the Bahamas was arranged through the Animal Rescue Fund of the Hamptons (ARF). This is just the beginning. The Kent Animal Shelter will give them veterinary care, shelter, food and lots of love while we find loving homes for each of them.

“There’s no place like home.” ~ The Wizard of Oz

Until now, the 50-year-old Kent Animal Shelter couldn’t find a new site to accommodate growth and replace its own aging facilities. “It’s been a whirlwind and a long, strange road these last few years, but we’ve landed right back on our own foundations.”
The shelter will unveil its newest site plans and schematics at its “No Place Like Home” 50th Anniversary Party on Saturday, September 28th from 6-10PM at the Cherry Creek Woods Golf Club restaurant, Stonewall’s. Tickets, available now online through Event Brite, are $75 per person and include:

Appetizers
Buffet dinner
Live music and dancing
huge GoCharity auction
Chinese auction
Raffles
Wizard of Oz fun!

All proceeds benefit the Kent Animal Shelter’s 2019 Rescue Fund.
