The Lenten Gospel of Luke Starts This Week
This Lent (February 18 through Easter on April 5) we will continue exploring the Gospels, moving on to the Gospel of Luke. This is one of the best ways to grow in faith, reading a Gospel account of Jesus’ life. Luke has many unique details including Mary’s perspective and a number of miracles and parables from Jesus. As we continue reading, we will ultimately read of Jesus’ sacrifice and resurrection as we enter Holy Week! The series offers the daily opportunity to read, or listen to the Gospel of Luke while the worship services focus on what we have read. On Wednesday evenings we’ll be watching the movie The Gospel of Luke, word for word from the Bible with actors on location acting out the text. Best of all, there will be weekly Bible study groups where you can discuss what you’ve read while making friends. To sign up, please visit StPaulsLionville.org/luke. We hope this series will be a blessing to you!

Easter "Air-Lock" Door Greeters
For the past couple years, we have placed additional greeters outside of the “air-lock” entrances at both services. The Worship & Music Planning Team received a lot of positive feedback and would like to continue the tradition. This is an excellent “one-time” opportunity for a husband-and-wife (including children) team planning to attend one of the two services. To aid you in performing this responsibility, a simple written description will be provided. Please contact John Peiffer (610-363-9535 or extonpeiffers@gmail.com) if you have any questions or would like to volunteer for one of the services.

Musical Notes From Lindsay
Center for worship with these upcoming musical selections:
February 15
8:00 am Service
Opening Hymn: Love Divine, All Loves Excelling
Yes, love is back again for a second week! A fitting selection for the renewal of marriage vows this past Sunday, and a celebration of love in the company of our friends for "Bring A Friend Sunday" this coming Sunday. I hope you find the choral arrangement in the link above as beautiful as I did!
10:30 am Service
Prelude: Holy Spirit
Just because it's a prelude doesn't mean you can't sing along!
We will welcome all of our friends for "Bring A Friend Sunday" with this gorgeous musical invocation of the Holy Spirit. I became familiar with this song while working with a church that had to sell their building. This was performed at the first service in their new rented location, and reminds me of the importance of gratitude through adversity.
February 18
12pm & 7pm Ash Wednesday Services
Prayers of the Church: From The Depths We Cry to Thee
For the responsorial purposes of the prayers, this selection will appear with a slight alteration in our Ash Wednesday service. You may recognize the tune which is called "HEINLEIN", and is often the tune used as the setting for the text "Forty Days and Forty Nights".
Communion Song: Tree of Life and Awesome Mystery
The contemplative melodic line will be played as the prelude, allowing us to reflect more deeply upon the poetic text that joins it during communion and the imposition of ashes.
