IN OUR PRAYERS

  • Sadly, we share the news that Tammy McCastle, who has been living in Atlanta, died on September 1, 2026, after a battle with ALS. As a faithful deacon, Tammy is remembered by many in our congregation. Please join us in prayer for her family as they grieve this loss. Click here to read Tammy's obituary.

  • We continue to pray for Bev and Harmon McAllister, as Harmon recovers from a broken leg. Speedy recovery Harmon!

  • Richard Williams requests prayers today, as he and Diane undergo some screening tests and Diane has a routine procedure.

  • Please be in prayer for Lori Godwin, who is suffering from a number of difficult health issues.

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 18TH @ 11:15. RUSSELL HALL

LOCAL MINISTRY PARTNER

"MOMENTS FOR MISSION"

During the fall and winter, we will be inviting

our local Mission Partners to come to worship

and bring us up to speed

on new developments in their nonprofit work.

First up is:

The STEM Alliance

Sunday, September 20th

The STEM Alliance began the way so many important things do: with three local moms who simply wanted more for their children. What started as a search for richer STEM enrichment has grown into a movement that now reaches 5,000 students and families each year across three vital streams of work:

STEM Education & Equity

  • programs that bring hands-on science, technology, engineering, and math
  • learning directly to the students who need it most

Summer Enrichment opportunities

  • that carry forward the legacy of the Co-Op Summer Enrichment program,
  • celebrating an extraordinary 60 years of equal access to quality summer
  • programs because summer matters,

Digital Inclusion & Access

  • initiatives that make sure no child or family is left stuck in the digital divide.

At the heart of everything The STEM Alliance does is STEMpowerment: the belief that STEM skills are a direct pathway to financial independence, higher-paying careers, and lasting opportunity, and that every person, regardless of zip code or circumstance, deserves that pathway.

The need is urgent, and growing. Every year we wait, another class of students graduates into a world that runs on STEM skills, without them. That gap does not close on its own; it takes committed partners, like this congregation, standing with us to close it.
