Important Volunteer Reminders!

We are so grateful for each of our dedicated PTO volunteers. All of you are the heart and soul of our organization. In the spirit of cooperation, we would like to remind all parents that when you are in the school building, it is important to respect our children’s and teachers' space. It is disruptive to the learning environment when parents peek into classrooms or pop in unannounced.

If you would like to pick up your child at the end of your volunteer time slot, you must coordinate with Mrs. Guzewicz in the main office.

Troy Cummings Author Visit

Book Orders Close Monday @ 9pm

Troy Cummings is coming to KRS on February 28th! Many thanks to the elementary school principals, the MEF and the PTO for funding this special opportunity. The KRS PTO and Ms. Thomas would like to offer our families the opportunity to pre-purchase a book to be signed by the one and only TROY CUMMINGS, himself, at his visit.

The books will be distributed on the day of the event. Troy will only have enough time to sign 1 book per child who ordered, however, you are welcome to order more books. We are happy to be working with The Bookworm in Bernardsville to bring these special books to KRS.

Library Volunteers are Welcome Back to KRS!

Please sign up to help during your child's Library class. Library Class Volunteers will scan books, reshelve books, and help in other ways needed by Mrs. Thomas.  There are three dates for each class beginning February 16 (note: there is no volunteering for the 2/28 B-Day due to the Author Visit). More opportunities will be added after Spring Break. Please see the sign-up genius for specific dates and times.

Valentine's Day Class Parties

Classroom teachers will be reaching out to each class individually regarding Valentine’s Day. Teachers will provide you with a class list of names and expectations for cards.

Kudos to Jessica Doninger and Samantha Lockery Then for planning an incredible trivia night. They worked hard to create challenging questions, solicit donations from local businesses and coordinated the ordering and distribution of the pizza kits. These ladies made these tasks look easy. Following technical difficulties from the website, they remained calm, cool and collected and we were even able to run the game a second time so everyone could participate.

Many thanks to our incredible VPs Katie Zurich and Tammy de Freitas for once again knocking it out of the park with an incredible winter enrichment program. We can’t wait to see the programs offered for spring. Stay tuned.

Did you know that our KRS school principal, Dr. Koop, sends out a newsletter every week? It's a great source of in-school information and reminders, as well as a snapshot of what happened during the week for our kids. Check it out below!
