Record-Breaking Year for MCFS Boot Tolls
Thanks to the generosity of residents, Middlesex Centre Fire Services (MCFS) "boot tolls" raised a record-breaking $33,703 for Muscular Dystrophy Canada.

At Work in the Community
Road work season is underway in Middlesex Centre! The first culvert and bridge repairs are starting in April, with work on 13 Mile Rd., Adelaide St. North and Vanneck Rd. (between Sunningdale and Gold Creek). As a reminder, you can find current and planned road closures and construction on the Municipal511.ca website.
As part of the Vision Zero Road Safety Campaign, starting this month you can expect to see centre-line markers and speed cushions on streets with speeding concerns.
Street sweeping, road grading and pothole repairs are also underway. Timing for these projects may change due to weather conditions.

Planning a Shed, Deck or Pool? You May Need a Building Permit
If you are planning to build an accessory building like a shed or detached garage that is larger than 15 m2 (160 ft2) or more than 1-storey tall, or a deck that is more than 0.6 m (2 ft) above the finished grade, you likely require a building permit.
Pools more than 0.6 m (2 ft) deep will require a building permit and you’ll need to meet specific fencing requirements.
Building permits are important to ensure your shed, deck or pool complies with local zoning and meets the safety standards set out in the Ontario Building Code.
You can apply for your building permit through the Cloudpermit system on the municipal website. You’ll also find guides and other information to help you with your projects.

Outdoor Fires & Yard Waste
It’s that time of year when we all want to get outdoors and prepare our yards for spring.
Remember that while controlled recreational fires are permitted in urban areas of Middlesex Centre, burning yard waste is not.
In rural areas, some yard materials may be burned with specific rules in place.
Check the Open Air Burning Quick Guide to make sure you are following the guidelines, and to keep yourself and your family safe.
