Library News
Welcome back to the Spring Semester, Cardinal Community!
This week has been a busy first week back. In the first week we have had about 924 visits (student visits and students with classes) and we have checked out 93 physical books, 3 eBooks/audiobooks , and 45 graphic novels through Comics Plus database.
Ms. Carpenter had classes come visit the first week back. One spotlight is Ms. Stone's Forensic Science classes. The forensic science classes are doing a comprehensive collaborative project to apply their prior knowledge of forensics to some gruesome tales. In the classes, we read and analyzed one of the original fairy tales from Brothers Grimm and Hans Christian Andersen. These stories are much darker than the widely known versions we see through current media, as they were cautionary tales. The students looked at setting, characters, and plot specifically to help generate and analyze the crimes committed in these original stories, and the evidence scientists would find on the scene.
The library also helped these classes to use educational technology: Book Creator, Sway, and others to create their final in-depth Forensic report on their chosen tale.
