Heritage Valley Launches
COVID-19 Vaccine Registration
Heritage Valley Health System has launched an online COVID-19 Vaccine Registration link on the organization's website. Based on guidelines from the Pennsylvania Department of Health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Health System is registering individuals in Phase 1A who are 65 and older as well as the 16 - 64 age category with underlying health conditions.

"Heritage Valley has initiated this registration process in preparation for the receipt of additional vaccine and supplies," said Norm Mitry, President and CEO, Heritage Valley Health System. "We have ordered additional vaccine and eagerly await shipments. The registration process helps ensure that once the vaccine is received, we will be ready to notify and schedule those in the appropriate categories."

The Health System is asking individuals who are currently eligible and interested in receiving a vaccine to do the following:
  1. Register online at www.heritagevalley.org to be placed on our waiting list. The registration link is now available, see below.
  2. As vaccine becomes available, Heritage Valley will contact those registered individuals, via email or text, to schedule appointments for their first and second doses.
  3. It is important that, after scheduling, individuals keep their appointments.

Although Heritage Valley only has a small allotment of vaccine at this time, individuals are encouraged to register so that when the vaccine is available, the Health System can allow you to schedule quickly and efficiently. Upon receipt of vaccines, those who are eligible and registered will receive a link to electronically schedule the date and time of both their first and second doses of the vaccine.

Currently, Heritage Valley has scheduled three days for vaccine distribution to the 65 years and older segment of the population. Those dates are Thursday, January 28 and Friday, January 29 at the CCBC Dome and Monday, February 1 at the former Heritage Valley Robinson location, side entrance of the Staples building. Individuals must be scheduled to obtain a vaccine on those days.

Other dates for vaccine clinics are contingent on the receipt of vaccine shipments.

"Heritage Valley understands the strong desire to obtain a vaccine and what it means for our community," added Mr. Mitry. "During this time we ask for your patience as we readily await the vaccine. Please continue wearing a mask, washing your hands, and practicing social distancing. And, please, avoid social gatherings, even small gatherings, which can spread COVID-19."

Heritage Valley will communicate directly with the community via the E-Connections newsletter and website. Notification will be shared as the Health System receives more vaccine and additional categories of the population become eligible, per the aforementioned national and state guidance.
