Details:
Proposition 400, a regional tax paid for major transportation projects in Maricopa County for decades, is scheduled to expire in 2025. Lawmakers say this legislative session is their last chance to extend it.
Arizona's economic growth is at stake, and we need our legislators to act now. We are urging them to prioritize investment in a modernized and expanded transportation infrastructure that will fuel economic growth. The clock is ticking, and we cannot afford to wait any longer. We implore our elected officials to set politics aside and take action on Prop 400. It is time for Arizona to step up and invest in its future. Let's make this happen together.
The half-cent sales tax, known as Proposition 400, has been in place since 1985 when voters approved a ballot measure sent by the Legislature. Prop. 400, which must be renewed every 20 years by voters, was extended in 2004.
Time is running out. We have two good drafts for Proposition 400 and need to get this done.
Please sign our letter asking our legislators to unite, set politics aside, and help build a better future for all. Our communities need transportation infrastructure to thrive and grow.
