Removing Barriers,

Creating Communities of Belonging.

“Now you are the body of Christ and individually members of it.” 1 Cor 12:27

June 2026

O Lord our heavenly Father, whose blessed Son came not to be served, but to serve: We ask you to bless all who, following in his steps, give themselves to the service of others; endue them with wisdom, patience, and courage, that they may strengthen the weak and raise up those who fall, and, being inspired by your love, may worthily minister to the suffering, the friendless, and the needy; for the sake of him who laid down his life for us, your Son our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

(BCP 2020, p660, Prayer for those who serve others.)

Becoming a servant leader is a biblical aspiration for followers of Jesus. Have you considered how to raise-up servant leaders with people with disabilities? Young Life’s Capernaum ministries took up this challenge in 2020. You are invited to learn more at the virtual gathering of ACNA’s Access Leadership Network.

June 15 at 7:00pm, ET (6:00pm CT).

Avery Figeroa and Kelsey Hamilton

Avery Figeroa, a Leadership Experience graduate from the second graduating class will share her experience. Avery is a natural leader at her day program and works for an organization that focuses on disability awareness. Avery also returned to LE to serve as a Mission Specialist who helped lead the training.

Kelsey Hamilton, the new Coordinator for the Leadership Experience (LE), will be sharing about this training program YL Capernaum has been developing and refining since 2020. The LE is designed to raise-up servant leaders with disabilities 18-years old and up. Many are Capernaum alumni, but that is not a requirement.

We look forward to learning from these two young women!
