Hello Again My Friends!

During these challenging times, Nannette Brodie Dance Theatre (NBDT) has been supporting each other with Zoom classes and Monday and Thursday evenings both for keeping our technique up and for moral support.

Our studio was closed, so our kitchens, living rooms and dens became our new dance studios. There were lots of technical mishaps on Zoom, but we all have learned and adapted.

We have put together a brand new video dance project entitled "Her Intercession". You will be the first audience to see this new work. It was a collaboration of 5 dancers: Jana Taylor, Rebecca Martin, Jennie Sustaita, Stephanie Maxim and Erica Villalpando.

There was a lot of chance and trust between me and the dancers as they followed the outline that I created. Each dancer created and performed their own movement and their camera work was primarily done by their spouses. As a final touch, we added the magic of Nik Kuo, who edited and finalized the work.

We think it is a lovely piece and we hope that you will take the time to check it out. The piece is password protected, please enter: nbdt86, when prompted.

We hope that you all are staying safe and healthy during this time and that you enjoy our new video work, "Her Intercession".
What's Next for NBDT?
We received a generous grant from a Long Beach foundation to present classes and assemblies for K-12 schools. We are preparing short videos for the virtual programs, and soon when schools reopen for in-person meetings, we will be presenting our programs.

AND we are beginning some more video performance projects this month and beyond.

PLUS, in November we are hosting the 4th dancers' film festival, DF2, which will be an online event this year.
AND, DON'T FORGET our big fundraising event, LONG BEACH GIVES, happening on September 24th.

We will be sending out more information soon, but in the mean time, check out the link below!

Again, we truly miss you, want to hear from you and see you soon, in the theatre.
