Good Morning,
We seem to live in an era of distractions. There is much we want to get done but it seems like life gets in the way.
This goes back to that old thing called goal setting. You remember it. If you are like me you have taken numerous courses and listened to far more motivational speakers addressing the subject. I have even taught a number of them in my lifetime.
Even with all of the training, things still get in the way. The above artwork describes a few of them. The key to success is keeping our eyes on the goal. Have you ever looked at a tree or such at the end of a large field and tried walking toward it looking down at your feet the entire way? If not, try it sometime. Yes, your feet will keep moving but will take you far off course if they are the only thing you look at.
The next time, keep your eyes on the tree and do not look away. The feet will keep walking toward the goal and you will walk in a straight line to the goal and take less time and far fewer steps doing it.
The looking at our feet is what distractions do. They take our mind and energy off of our achieving the goal. Many distractions are of our own making. Others are other people who, either intentionally or unintentionally, get in the way of progress.
It is your goal. If you believe it important, do not lose sight of it and stay focused. Do not let people or things to get in the way.
Onward and upward.
Jim
