Carts are Being Delivered

Starting March 17, Waste Connections will deliver new trash and recycling carts to households enrolled in Broomfield’s Residential Waste Services program. If you did not opt out, you will automatically receive carts.

  • Delivery: March 17–28
  • Service Begins: Week of March 31
  • Missed the cart selection deadline? You’ll receive a 65-gallon trash cart and 95-gallon recycling cart by default. Participants can opt-out of the program at any time.

2025 Community Survey Closing Soon

If you haven’t already taken the 2025 Broomfield Community Survey, now is your chance to make your voice heard! Share your experiences with local issues and the quality of city and county services and programs. The survey will take just 10 minutes and your answers are anonymous. Hazardous Trail Conditions

The CCOB Parks Services closed several sections of concrete trail near the Flatirons Mall on the morning of Friday, March 7, due to hazardous conditions. The trails will be closed indefinitely, and at this time there is no timeline to reopen. The map shows red markers for barricade placement and green lines for the trails that have been closed.

🖌️ Paint-a-thon: Qualifying Broomfield residents can apply to be a part of Broomfield and Brothers Redevelopment Paint-a-thon Program. Paint-a-thon volunteers provide free exterior painting, minor exterior repairs and yard work to selected homes. This ongoing program is available to qualifying residents each spring and summer. 👦 Broomfield Teen Leadership Conference: Join the first Broomfield Teen Leadership Conference, hosted by Broomfield Teen Council and Youth for Youth, featuring a keynote speech from Broomfield Mayor, Guyleen Castriota. This event aims to bring together youth leaders from across Broomfield to network, engage in team-building activities and enhance their leadership skills. All teens are welcome to join this free, fun event March 22, 1-4 p.m. at Legacy High School. 

🌳 Annual Tree Sale: Buy a tree at the Broomfield Parks annual tree sale! Limit of five trees per household. Each tree costs $85. Seven different species are available for sale and can be purchased on B-REx. Tree pick up will take place on Saturday, April 19, from 8 a.m. to noon at 2990 W. 124th Ave.

🏛️ LURC Public Hearing Cancellation: The Public Hearing before the Land Use Review Commission for the Trails at Westlake, originally noticed for Monday, March 10 at 6 p.m., has been CANCELLED. The meeting was cancelled due to an error in the vicinity map printed on the mailed notice. The hearing is relating to the proposed development of two non-contiguous properties for a 50-lot single-unit residential community located East of Lowell Boulevard, North of King Circle and South of Misty Street. A new hearing date has not been set. All notices of the public hearing will be completed in accordance with Chapter 17-52 of the Broomfield Municipal Code once the new hearing date is finalized.

🌎 Earth Day Volunteer Recruitment: Make a difference and get your hands dirty this Earth Day by volunteering at the Earth Day Celebration! Volunteers will provide general event support such as setting up, engaging with the community and distributing mulch. 🌳 March Open Space and Trails Virtual Speaker Series: This month’s speaker series features Josh Tenneson, Deputy Director of Great Outdoors Colorado, on “Great Outdoors Colorado: A Legacy of Conservation and Community Impact.” Join Josh and Broomfield Open Space and Trails on Wednesday, March 12 at 7 p.m. to reflect on GOCO's history and achievements, and celebrate its enduring mission to keep Colorado wild, beautiful and accessible for all. 🚓 Broomfield Police Department Teen Academy: Sign up for the 2025 BPD-Inside Teen Academy. Coming June 2-6, the academy is a fun and interactive way for local teens to learn about the Broomfield Police Department and its many divisions and units. Experience what it's like to be a police officer while exploring the vast array of opportunities available in law enforcement.

🚧 Broomfield Heights Stormwater and Pedestrian Improvements: Construction on the Broomfield Heights Stormwater and Pedestrian Improvements project is ongoing. These improvements will continue to enhance safety, walkability and stormwater and flood management in the neighborhood. 💧 Utility Fund Assistance Program: If your household income is at or below 100% of the Area Median Income, you can receive up to $240 in annual assistance, whether you rent or own your home. On Tuesday, March 4, Mayor Guyleen Castriotta presented Broomfield’s 2025 State of the City and County presentation in the Broomfield Auditorium. Joined by Broomfield City Council members, local leaders and the Broomfield community, Mayor Castriotta celebrated CCOB’s accomplishments over the last year, highlighted by economic vitality, sustainability, mobility and the number one priority of fiscal sustainability and resilience.
