We are now entering the "Ber" months—where did the time go? Fall is just around the corner, and with this time of year comes many events as businesses gear up for the upcoming holiday season.

We can never stress enough the importance of shopping local. Our local businesses depend on you, so please get out in the community, see what they offer, and learn more about them. You might be pleasantly surprised by what we have right here in our own backyard.

Upcoming September Mixer – Save the Date!

 - Date: September 16th

 - Time: 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM

 - Location: Vega Vineyard

We encourage all of our business services—including finance and insurance—to participate. We will be showcasing companies that provide services to other businesses. Vega Vineyard has a fantastic networking mixer planned, complete with delicious bites and wine. Come learn more about our business community, mingle with fellow members, and enjoy the evening!

October Scarecrow Fest

Coming up in October is the Valley-wide Scarecrow Fest, with the Solvang Chamber taking the lead. Buellton will be promoting the event and supporting our local businesses all the way. We hope our community gets involved—let's bring home the Harvest Cup again! Registration information is included below in this month's newsletter.

Stormwater Tip of the Month:

Did you know that pet waste is a major source of bacteria and nutrients in local waterways? Always pick up after your pets and dispose of waste properly to protect water quality. Visit your City’s Stormwater Management webpage (Buellton or Solvang) to learn more about best management practices for pet owners and animal care handling facilities.

Water Conservation Tip of the Month:

Car wash day? Use a commercial car wash that recycles water to save on water use. If washing your car at home, use a hose with an automatic shut-off nozzle and ensure wastewater drains to a landscaped

area or unpaved surface. Better yet, wash your car on a grassy area to water your lawn at the same time!
