Maximize the Potential!

Dear Friend of CCSD93,

Messages From

Superintendent Hill:

Today is Principal Appreciation Day in Illinois, an opportunity to recognize the leadership, expertise and commitment our school administrators bring to their work each day. CCSD93’s nine principals guide teaching and learning in their school communities, helping students and staff develop and succeed. From overseeing essential programs and setting high expectations to supporting and evaluating educators, they balance countless responsibilities to keep our schools safe, welcoming and focused on student growth.

The work of a principal extends well beyond the school day. Early in the morning, late into the evening and throughout the weekend, our principals devote their time and energy to creating opportunities for children to learn, connect and thrive.

Whether guiding school improvement, partnering with families or helping a student work through a challenge, they put our mission of maximizing the academic, social and emotional potential of each student into practice. Their thoughtful decisions and consistent support help move our entire district toward achieving the priorities and objectives of our Strategic Plan.

We are fortunate to have principals who invest so much of themselves in the success of our students, staff and school communities. Much of their work happens behind the scenes, but its impact is felt throughout our classrooms and beyond. When you next see your child’s principal, please join me in expressing appreciation for their leadership and service, which help make our schools such special places to learn and grow!

Birth to 5 Let's Play Fall Fest a Success

Thank you to everyone who attended last Sunday’s Let’s Play Fall Fest! It was a great time for parents with young ones to connect with key community resources while enjoying activities like face painting, trunk-or-treat and hands-on play stations.

We appreciate our partners at the Glenbard Early Childhood Collaborative for co-hosting the event as well as the DuPage Foundation for sponsoring it through the Bright & Early DuPage Grant Program!

Nordstrom Rack Provides D93 With 100 Coats & More for Students in Need!

CCSD93 recently received a generous donation of 100 coats from the newly opened Nordstrom Rack in Bloomingdale, along with $500 shopping sprees for two district families!

The coats, provided through the nonprofit Operation Warm, will be distributed to students through our Coats for Kids program, helping keep them warm as colder weather approaches. This week, the two families enjoyed a private shopping experience before the store’s official opening!

This generous support aligns with the work of the D93 Kids Foundation, which helps CCSD93 students experiencing need maximize their potential. Thank you to Nordstrom Rack and Operation Warm for their generosity and commitment to our school community!

Have a Blast for a Great Cause at D93 Kids Foundation Trivia Night Fundraiser on 11/7

All CCSD93 parents, staff, community members and friends 21 and older are invited to join us for the 4th Annual D93 Kids Foundation Trivia Night on Saturday, November 7, 2026, from 7 to 10 p.m. at American Legion Post 76 in Carol Stream!

AAC Show & Tell Builds Connections at Heritage Lakes

Many students across CCSD93 use augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) to communicate throughout the school day. For AAC Awareness Month, Heritage Lakes students who don’t typically use these tools explored them this week through AAC Show & Tell, led by the school’s speech-language team.

Students tried out core boards, switches, iPads and other communication tools, reflected on communicating in different ways and brainstormed how to use what they learned to better connect with classmates who use AAC. K-2 classrooms have also been enjoying AAC read-alouds throughout the month!

Fire Safety Takes Center Stage in D93 Schools

This month, elementary students across CCSD93 are learning all about fire safety. Local firefighters, including members of the Carol Stream Fire District pictured here with Western Trails and Cloverdale students, are teaching students how to prevent fires and respond when an alarm sounds at school or at home.

We’re grateful for our partnerships with all of our local fire departments and appreciate their dedication to our students' wellbeing!

A Matter of Discovery at Cloverdale

This week, Cloverdale 2nd graders became scientists with the DuPage Regional Office of Education STEM Squad! During the lesson, students explored the three common states of matter: solid, liquid and gas, then put their learning to work by growing their own borax crystals. The hands-on experiment brought their science unit to life and showed students how matter can change form.
