St. Margaret's Bay Gardening Club

Let the Growing Begin!

Seedy Saturday 2026 will take place on March 21st from 9:30 am to 4 pm at St. Luke's United Church - 5374 St. Margaret’s Bay Road, Upper Tantallon.

We are pleased to welcome back Niki Jabbour as our keynote speaker. Her presentation, “Vegetable Gardening in a Changing Climate,” will begin at 10:15 am in the Sanctuary.

New This Year

A children’s activity area, offered by Nourish Nova Scotia, will be located in the Lower Hall (near the vendor area) from 11:30 am to 3:00 pm.

If you need to play two loonies instead of one toonie, put the same number on two stickers, and put a numbered sticker on each of the two loonies.

A valid play costs $2.

St. Margaret’s Bay Pride Launches New Website & Youth Logo Design Contest!

St. Margaret’s Bay Pride has launched a brand‑new website — stmargaretsbaypride.ca — and they’re celebrating with an exciting creative opportunity for local youth!

Young artists under the age of 25 are invited to take part in the 2026 Pride Festival Youth Logo Design Contest. The winning artwork will be featured across this year’s festival materials, including social media, t‑shirts, stickers, and more.

Along with seeing their design come to life, the winner will receive a fantastic prize bundle:

A $50 gift card to a local business
A gift basket from Cape and Cowl Comics
A festival t‑shirt featuring their own design

Entries are open until March 27, and submissions can be made directly through the SMB Pride website.

But that’s not all — creativity continues with an upcoming Youth Art Jam at the Tantallon Public Library on Sunday, March 15, from 2:30–4:30 PM.

It’s a great chance for young community members to get inspired, make art, and connect.

Meet Henio — Our Charming Rollover Model

This is Henio (short for Henry in Polish). Henio is a 12‑year‑old rescue who was born in a shelter lovingly built for his stray, homeless mama, one of the neighbourhood cats who was being cared for.

After some time, his mama was tamed, spayed, and brought to safety, and the kittens discovered under the deck were adopted. Today, Henio and his brother Zenon are happy indoor cats, living a comfortable life.

Henio is extremely affectionate and full of quirky charm. He loves bananas, beets, and green peas, and he’s known for striking playful poses to get your attention.

He adores being carried around and feels his best when he’s attached to his favourite human — Klara!
