Welcome James Campbell!

M2K Instructor James Campbell mentors trainees on the shop floor

NCC is pleased to welcome James Campbell to the team. He will be teaching M2K classes on Monday and Wednesday evenings, as well as Saturdays.

James brings a strong background in both education and industry. He previously taught manufacturing, robotics and Microsoft Office courses to high school students in the Puyallup School District in Puyallup, WA. His professional experience includes positions with Alpha Precision Machining and Watts Specialties in the aerospace manufacturing sector.

He earned his Teaching Certification in Career and Technical Education from Bates Technical College in Tacoma, WA.

James is passionate about helping others achieve their goals. “Seeing the people around me grow and succeed is my primary focus everywhere I go, whether it’s at the workplace or my neighbor’s house,” he said. “When the individual succeeds, we all succeed.”

He hopes his personal educational journey will inspire students facing challenges. Some students “like to hear that I did not finish high school but instead went the GED route. It can be encouraging for a struggling student to hear that further education maybe wasn’t the path early on, but things turned out okay and success can still be found in life.”

Kawneer Opens Its Doors to NCC

NCC recently had the opportunity to tour Kawneer’s manufacturing facility in Cranberry Township, PA, hosted by Emily Wilson and the Kawneer team. During the visit, NCC staff and M2K students observed key operations throughout the facility, including shipping and receiving, press and extrusion, anodizing, fabrication, assembly and inspection.

In addition to gaining insight into the manufacturing process, the M2K trainees heard directly from Kawneer employees about a variety of career opportunities and the pathways that led them to successful careers in manufacturing. The M2K students gained valuable exposure to the industry and learned about the many possibilities available within the manufacturing sector.

NCC is grateful to Kawneer for welcoming its group and providing a firsthand look at the world-class products being manufactured right here in SWPA.

Ways to Support NCC

Many employers offer matching gift programs that can double—or even triple—the impact of charitable contributions. If your company matches donations to nonprofits, please consider designating New Century Careers as your beneficiary. It's an easy way to increase the value of your support at no additional cost to you.

Some companies also provide grants to nonprofits when employees volunteer their time. NCC is currently seeking volunteers to help paint the interior of its Pittsburgh training facility. If you'd like to share your time and talents with NCC, please contact Neil Ashbaugh at (412) 212-0828 for more information.

Bridges of Good Work Continues

The Bridges of Good Work campaign continues to make an impact across the region, raising awareness of NCC and encouraging prospective applicants to explore opportunities through the M2K program.

NCC is pleased to share the 30-second commercial in this month’s e-newsletter.
