El Tour de Tucson 5k Race Report, Part 2 | | |
Hello again to the El Tour 5k Participants! Randy here, with another quick race report for the 3rd Annual El Tour de Tucson 5k.
Congratulations to all who crossed the finish line after a joyful journey through our beautiful Downtown Tucson!
Thank you again for being part of this fantastic event -- we're honored to help bring together runners, walkers, bike riders, and chair athletes.
To our out-of-town guests, we know that it was a bit rainy, but come on back to Tucson and visit with us again.
You can visit the El Tour page for the schedule of their 2026 bicycling events, including the Tour de Scottsdale and Tour de Zona.
Runners and walkers can find discount codes to our upcoming Run Tucson events farther below. Join us in beautiful locations like Sonoita's Empire Ranch, Old Tucson Studios, the Biosphere 2, or scenic Oro Valley. From 5k to half-marathon, on trails or roads, we've got you covered! See details below.
As we said in our last email, we hope that you all have a safe, happy, and healthy Thanksgiving Week, wherever your travels take you.
Randy Accetta, on behalf of Tia and the crew at Run Tucson

RESULTS & SOCIAL
Results can be found here.
The event was timed by On Your Left Fitness and Timing. All finisher times were recorded based on so-called "start timing" or "gun timing," meaning that the participant's time will be recorded from the start of the race to when the participant crosses the finish line mats.
If you have a question about your results, email the race director at randy@runtucson.net and he will work with On Your Left to solve it.
For social media, please tag @eltourdetucson and @runtucson -- you can use hashtags #ElTour5k, #ElTourdeTucson5k, #ElTourRun and #runtucson and anything else you want . . .

I've posted a handful of my own (mediocre) snapshots to the race page here. I did not get everyone, but you can search by bib number.

The youth fitness program GroGirlGro for handing out medals at the finish line! (Special appreciation to their founder, Jody Bartz, for letting me borrow her cool purple helmet -- I had left my bike helmet in the garage and she made sure I was safe out on the course...)

-
Doreen Davis for sending runners, walkers, and bike riders in the correct directions, with such good cheer!

John Ward was our go-to course manager -- John has been doing behind-the-scenes ops work at all of our Run Tucson races since Saguaro -- it's great to have him on board! Doreen Davis was our go-to at the bike path -- thanks Doreen!
Tia Accetta was watching our daughter in a high school flag football state championship game in Phoenix on race day (we won!!) and couldn't make it, but she was instrumental in putting all this together -- special thanks to her for all the pre- and post-race support!
I'm sure others jumped in and helped, so if I'm missing anyone, please forgive me and let me know who I missed!
