Marriage, Elections, Energy & Planning
One of the special joys of being mayor is officiating weddings. This weekend I had the pleasure of participating in a small family wedding at our beautiful waterfront.

If you haven't already voted by absentee ballot or at an early voting location, tomorrow is your final chance to be part of this historic election. Several polling places have changed. See below for a helpful graphic or click here to confirm your polling place.

At last week's Village Board work session we learned about a new online tool that Green Ossining is gearing up to launch to help residents understand the greenhouse gas emissions from their household. It's an especially useful tool as we are about to embark on the EnergySmart Homes initiative with Sustainable Westchester.

Last Wednesday we also had an update on the Comprehensive Plan progress. Click here to visit the Ossining Tomorrow site with in-depth information about the proposed updates to the village comprehensive plan. Click here to view the lengthy discussion about proposed zoning changes.

Community Connections
Village Hall will be closed tomorrow for Election Day. I will return for Open Office Hours with the Mayor next Tuesday, November 10.

Have a burning question or idea, at any hour of the day or night?... Email me (mayor@villageofossining.org), Village Manager Karen D'Attore (kdattore@villageofossining.org) or the Board of Trustees (bot@villageofossining.org).

Wednesday's Hybrid Meeting
This week begins with a public hearing on proposed Local Law 8 related to a new special events policy. Click here to view our discussion of new event fees that will correspond with the new events policy. Click here to view the proposed Local Law 8 (Special Events). The village manager's office has emailed these documents, as well as the proposed procedures that will guide the process, to stakeholders who attended the public engagement session last year when we embarked on the process of creating a new events policy. I anticipate we will allow this public hearing to remain open for at least two more weeks as we tweak the process and grow awareness of the proposed changes with stakeholders who may want to weigh in.

This week's meeting will be a hybrid format. Click here for the full agenda, including the link to participate virtually. If you'd like to attend in person at the Community Center, remember to wear your mask!

With Regards,
Mayor Victoria Gearity
Polling Place Changes
Do you know your polling place? Several locations have changed this year.

This graphic shows the 2019 polling place on the left with the new 2020 location on the right in bold. (Thank you Ossining resident and election enthusiast Christina Picciano for creating this graphic.)

Note: If you live in District 13 (Crotonville area) your polling location was moved from the Community Center to Claremont.
