Message from Mayor Kapszukiewicz
As you may have heard Monday, Toledo has been named number one in the nation among mid-sized cities for new business investment by Site Selection Magazine. All Toledoans should be proud of this recognition, which is a major victory for us all. This achievement would not have been possible without continuous commitment from our business community to locate and invest in Toledo.
The economic momentum in Toledo continues to increase and the pipeline for 2021 is very strong. There are approximately $2.2 billion worth of projects currently underway or recently completed that are expected to create nearly 3,500 new permanent jobs and 1,079 new residential units.

We understand fully there are people still struggling due to the impact of COVID-19. That is why we have created a number of programs to assist renters, homeowners, first-time homebuyers, microenterprises, and more.

Together, we had a great number of economic success stories in 2020, completed during the pandemic. Toledo continues to remain committed to working with its partners to cultivate a business- and development-friendly environment necessary to bring new opportunities and new jobs to our community. I also want to thank Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine, who released a video congratulating Toledo for the award.

Emergency Mortgage Assistance Program
The Emergency Mortgage Assistance Program, which was announced during the 2021 State of the City, will help 150 low- to moderate-income households pay up to six consecutive months of mortgage payments. It is funded through federal Community Development Block Grant funding.

Eligibility requirements and more information on the program, including pre-application workshop dates, can be found at toledo.oh.gov/mortgage.
Toledo Police
As a result of a nationwide trend in robberies related to internet sales transactions, and the Toledo Police Department’s commitment to community safety, an Internet Transaction Safety Zone was established at the Scott Park District Station. More information can be found at this link and in this video.
