CPDA Welcomes New Member Jeevan Chemicals

CPDA is pleased to welcome Jeevan Chemicals as its newest member.

As the Business Council for Agrotechnology, CPDA’s member support drives advocacy on key issues impacting the crop protection value chain, including reducing EPA’s PRIA and non-PRIA registration backlogs, advancing science-based Endangered Species Act solutions, and supporting practical policies that help bring effective tools to growers.

Jeevan Chemicals is a manufacturer of specialty surfactants and adjuvants for the global crop protection industry, providing ingredients that support the efficacy, stability, and application performance of agrochemical formulations. The company’s portfolio includes polymeric, non-ionic, anionic, cationic, amphoteric, silicone-based, and other specialty surfactants, along with formulation adjuvants designed to meet the evolving needs of crop protection manufacturers.

Senate Agriculture Committee Advances Farm Bill

The Senate Agriculture Committee advanced its version of the 2026 Farm Bill by a 12-11 vote, sending the legislation to the Senate floor.

The vote followed an August markup that stalled before final committee passage. With Senator Mitch McConnell returning to participate, Chairman John Boozman was able to move the bill out of committee.

For CPDA members, the Senate bill includes several important provisions, including Technical Service Provider language and an extension of EPA’s pesticide registration review deadline. The House-passed Farm Bill also included those priorities, along with Centers of Excellence language that could support a significant investment in crop production, crop protection, resilience, and adjuvant research.

The next step is Senate floor consideration. The bill will need 60 votes to advance, and timing remains uncertain. If the Senate passes its version, differences with the House-passed bill would be resolved through conference or broader end-of-year negotiations.

CPDA will continue working with congressional offices and allied organizations to support Farm Bill provisions that improve regulatory certainty, strengthen pesticide registration review, and recognize the role of adjuvants in protecting the acre.

PRIA Coalition Continues to Advance PRIA 6 Proposal

The PRIA Coalition continues to advance its proposal for PRIA 6 reauthorization.

If enacted by Congress, the proposal would provide additional resources for EPA’s Office of Pesticide Programs, support process and technology improvements, and help make the pesticide registration process more efficient and predictable.

Key provisions would require EPA to establish a digital labeling framework, incorporate automation and artificial intelligence into appropriate parts of the review process, and continue work to reduce the PRIA and non-PRIA backlog.

The proposal would also simplify PRIA by reducing the number of fee codes, helping reduce miscoding and improve efficiency for both EPA and registrants.

For CPDA members, PRIA 6 is an important opportunity to strengthen regulatory certainty, improve review timelines, and ensure EPA has the tools and resources needed to process pesticide registration actions in a timely and consistent manner.

Biopesticide Regulatory Workstream Sets Priorities

CPDA’s Biopesticide Working Group workstream on Regulatory Predictability and Pathway Clarity met Sept. 9 to set near-term priorities for EPA engagement, novel technologies and data requirements, review timelines, and PRIA 6.

The workstream discussed pursuing a meeting with EPA’s Biopesticides and Pollution Prevention Division before year-end, developing an anonymous member poll to identify priority biopesticide product types and regulatory issues, and preparing member education on PRIA 6 code changes and regulatory timelines.

The group also discussed coordinated talking points for potential Hill meetings later this year.

Next steps include exploring a BPPD meeting, developing the member poll, and identifying the PRIA 6 changes most relevant to CPDA members.

CPDA will continue using Working Group input to support practical regulatory pathway clarity for biopesticides and strengthen member engagement with EPA and policymakers.

CPDA PAC Participates in Congressional Lunches

CPDA PAC participated in two congressional lunches this week with agriculture and input-sector partners, including RISE, CropLife America, the Agricultural Retailers Association, The Fertilizer Institute, and others.

The lunches provided an opportunity to engage with House Majority Leader Steve Scalise and House Agriculture Committee member Rep. Sharice Davids on issues important to agriculture, crop protection, and the broader input sector.

CPDA PAC is an important tool for maintaining relationships with policymakers and keeping CPDA priorities in the conversation in Washington.

CPDA appreciates the continued partnership of allied organizations and member companies working to advance practical policy outcomes for agriculture and those CPDA PAC members who contribute financially.
