Wednesday, April 3, DC Activities

8:00-9:00 am
Gather at the Shepherd Statue in Freedom Plaza, 13th & Pennsylvania Ave., to greet NATO foreign ministers as they enter the offices of the Center for European Policy Analysis (CEPA) at 1275 Pennsylvania Ave., NW, Suite 400, Washington, DC. Publicly, we are calling for folks only to gather for a "Special Event."  Please forward this information to like-minded family and friends, but please don't otherwise publish anything regarding CEPA, their address, or the foreign ministers meeting there.

We'll be exposing CEPA's Ministerial Forum: NATO at 70   https://www.cepa.org/nato-70-anniversary
CEPA will mark the grand opening of its new Washington headquarters by hosting a Ministerial Forum in celebration of NATO's 70th Anniversary. Join the foreign ministers and many others, including Special Corporate Guest Stars: Lockheed Martin Corporation, Raytheon Company, Bell Helicopter, and BAE Systems.
Here's how CEPA is funded and their International Advisory Committee.

Afterward, we'll walk 12 blocks down Pennsylvania Ave. to gather from 10:00-11:00 am for a rally with special European speakers at the Peace Monument, 1st St. and Pennsylvania Ave., NW, while the NATO General Secretary prepares to address a joint session of Congress at 11:00 am.
Folks will proceed from there (by metro) to the PEACE FESTIVAL, noon to 10:00 pm at St. Stephen's Church, 1525 Newton St, NW, Washington, DC

The schedule of activities include sign making, screen printing, art exhibits and  activity booths, keynote speeches, biting comedic entertainment, spoken word, and live music.

Please sign up for the April 3 planning session for the April 4 events

Thursday,  April 4

8:00 am - Gather at the Albert Einstein Memorial, 2101 Constitution Ave., NW, near where the NATO foreign ministers will meet. We'll decide then on a location to hear speakers and musicians, protest NATO, and greet meeting attendees.

10:00 am - Rally at Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial  with speakers and musicians.

WHY NO to NATO and YES to PEACE?  NATO, founded in 1949 with 12 partner countries, now has 29 member countries. It's shocking that NATO is expanding into Latin American with Colombia as the first "global partner." Brazil may be next, after President Bolsonaro's recent visit at the White House. This NATO expansion seriously  threatens the stability of this entire region.
