Santee Falcons SOAR! Principal's Update
October 27, 2019
Principal Ansley's Weekly Message
Dear Santee Family,

"We're so busy watching out for what's just ahead of us that we don't take time to enjoy where we are." Bill Waterson

This week we celebrated spirit week and homecoming with daily activities and finished off the week with our Pep Rally, Parade, Homecoming Game, Royalty Announcements, Senior night and our Homecoming dance "Hollywood Nights." I hope that everyone got a chance to show some school spirit and enjoy the festivities. Sometimes we get so caught up with everything we have to get done at school that we forget to also enjoy each moment. I want to thank all of the staff, parents and students who worked extra hard and extra long to ensure that all of these events and activities were successful.

I also want to acknowledge our college and academic counselors who put together another successful college fair. There was so much great information provided and it was well organized with an array of Colleges and Universities. Each year, there are more students not only applying to college but being accepted and completing college. I am so excited to see so many of our students and their families engaging in our students plans for their future!

Working Together, All Santee Falcons Will Soar !

If anyone has any questions, please do not hesitate to call our main office or email Principal Susana Ansley-Gutierrez at susana.gutierrez@lausd.net.

B) Santee Hard Truths

  • Taking accurate attendance is extremely important. We are still seeing discrepancies. Marking a student present when they are absent or absent when they are present does not only affect our attendance rates but can cause concerns and distrust from our school community.

  • Text-a-Tip is for emergency purposes. Adults should not be using text-a-tip to report other school related issues or concerns. Please use the appropriate online forms for any maintenance issues, supply requests or other concerns.

Your copy should address 3 key questions: Who am I writing for? (Audience) Why should they care? (Benefit) What do I want them to do here? (Call-to-Action)

Create a great offer by adding words like "free" "personalized" "complimentary" or "customized." A sense of urgency often helps readers take an action, so think about inserting phrases like "for a limited time only" or "only 7 remaining!"
