Our Summer Recital Series
now includes Supper too!
One of the lovelier Summer traditions at St. James’s is the Wednesday night Welcome Summer Recital Series that kicks off the season. And this year we’re adding something to make the evenings even more irresistible -- a casual supper.
In addition to the three performances at 7 pm on June 7, 14 and 21, we’ll be hosting a casual supper of hearty soup, biscuits, cookies, tea and wine that starts at 5:30 pm.
So before you’re soothed, inspired, moved and enriched by accomplished musicians playing beautiful compositions, you can enjoy a homemade dinner with friends. In addition to being a delight for St. James’sers, these recitals and suppers are also a great opportunity to introduce friends to our church.
Cost for dinner is $5 per person. Please RSVP here by noon on Monday to give us some idea of how many people to expect.
Here's the musical lineup. Go here for more details.
-
June 7 -- Charles Humphries, counter-tenor / Charles Lindsey, piano
-
June 14 -- The Eckhart Ensemble featuring Gus Highstein, oboe
-
June 21 -- St. James’s Choir: A Gloucester Prelude
Music to be sung during the choir’s residency at Gloucester Cathedral, August 7-13, 2023

Our Summer Worship Schedule

This Sunday we return to our traditional Summer schedule of two services -- at 8 and 10 am. The 8 am service will be in the Memorial Garden, unless it's raining, in which case it will be moved to the Sanctuary. Likewise, we want to have our 9 am fellowship in the Memorial Garden, weather permitting. The 10 am service will always be in the Sanctuary. The 10 am service will also be live-streamed.

The shelves of our
Little Free Library are bare.
Help us refill them.
The Little Free Library our youth built last year has proven to be very popular – so popular, in fact, that we’ve nearly run out of books to fill its shelves. That’s where you come in.
If you have any gently used books for children K to 5th grade, and are willing to donate them, we’d love to put them in the Little Free Library.
Just bring your books to The Parish house during the week or to the Narthex on Sundays…and we’ll see that they get into good – and grateful – hands.

Keeping Up with St. James’sers
is back! With a twist.
This weekend is the unofficial start of summer, so it’s the perfect time to bring back our popular Keeping Up With St. James’sers program – where you share with us what you’re doing and where you’re going over the Summer.
Last Summer, most of you shared your vacation plans with us – which was awesome. But this Summer, we want to expand what you share to include things like: volunteering, hobbies, backyard parties; work at the church, accomplishments, weekend activities like kayaking or hiking, offbeat moments, or any other activity – serious or silly – that you’re up to this Summer.
Send photos and information about what you're doing and where you are to
Don’t be shy. Have some fun. Surprise us!
