kidTECH 2026 - a success on all cylinders!

Last month, kidSAFE ran its eighth annual kidTECH Conference in Los Angeles, California. The event took place on the penthouse floor at the magnificent and one-of-a-kind Petersen Automotive Museum, overlooking iconic landmarks such as Ubran Light and La Brea Tarpits. We had incredible panels and speakers, fantastic entertainment and magic, amazing offsite excursions, delicious food (tacos, ice cream, smoothies), and, of course, the best attendees. We're pretty sure that the micro-conference nature of kidTECH, once again, was firing on all cylinders (pun intended) and loved by all!

If you were there (or even if you weren't), please fill out the survey below we can make our next kidTECH conference even better than the last. Here are some examples of what we heard from attendees the week after the conference:

  • "Thank you so much for hosting and gathering everyone in LA. Last week's conference was the breath of fresh air I've been needing since moving to the consumer tech industry. Your event was so well produced, and it was amazing to be surrounded by like-minded people trying to do the right thing for our children and families."

  • "The conference was really lovely, and yes, it's definitely got a feel like the Dust or Magic event. Really enjoyed chatting with folks. I really appreciate how AI forward the conversations were. I'm getting ready for an event in Germany next week and it's much more difficult to navigate."

  • "Wanted to say thanks so much for a great conference, it was really interesting, and it was great to meet the kidSAFE team in person, as well as so many other great people in the space."

Relive kidTECH 2026

In case you missed the event, we had panel discussions ranging from topics like "AI's Role in the Future of Kids' Entertainment" to "AI Toys and Chatbots Under the Microscope" to "A Hodgepodge of kidTECH". We learned about the power of offline play in a digital age, tech for good, and the remarkable story of David Lee from Nex. We looked at the new rules, implementation challenges, and age assurance opportunities brought about by the new COPPA law and were introduced to important design principles when creating AI-powered experiences for kids. In the state of the industry keynotes, Zak Ringelstein gave us a warm welcome to the "Under-18 Internet", while Patrick Benad reminded us that "YouTube is the New Toy Aisle".

During the breaks, we took advantage of the beautiful sunny California weather with a memorable Segway tour of Beverly Hills and an incredible pickleball challenge, while entertaining the indoorsy people with a highlights tour of the museum and special documentary.
