Are you maximizing your Ohio BWC discounts? Through DRMA’s partnership with Sedgwick, members can receive a free, no-obligation workers’ compensation savings analysis to identify potential cost-saving opportunities. Contact Julia Bowling at julia.bowling@sedgwick.com to learn more.

Safety Alert! Check out this month's tip from our workers comp program administrator, Sedgwick, and other partners:

  • BWC true-up reporting and payment are due 8/31. Failure to complete the true-up process may result in the loss of workers' compensation discounts and rebates. Read more on what’s required to true up here.
  • As heat-related illnesses continue to rise across the U.S., OSHA has taken a significant step to help reduce that trend by updating and extending its National Emphasis Program (NEP) for Outdoor and Indoor Heat-Related Hazards. The updated program reshapes how OSHA will conduct inspections, target industries, and evaluate employer prevention efforts. Read more on the revised program here.

Do you need legal help on anything from labor and employment, OSHA, real estate and more? Take advantage of your legal services plan offered by Bob Dunlevey of Taft Law. Members get one FREE consultation per month. Click here for details.

Good news alert! I’m proud to report that DRMA was recently named one of 22 organizations to receive state funding to connect Ohioans with in-demand careers. This means we’re renewing our focus on career outreach and workforce development projects. You’ll be seeing more info about these efforts – and new ones we’re planning – later this year. Until then, please know that the entire DRMA staff – me, Kaitlin, Shay, Amy, Kara, Susan, Kayla & Quira – are all here to serve you. If you have any ideas on how we can do that better, be sure to let us know.

One of the most beneficial programs we continue to offer is DRMA’s Wage and Benefit Survey Report which can help you adjust your compensation program in order to attract and retain employees. PLEASE complete the survey . . . we need a lot of member companies to participate to make the results statistically reliable. You will get the results for FREE if you participate. If you need the link re-sent or if you have questions, contact Shay.

A great source for “insider” business information is Connor Lokar, one of the country’s most informed economists. Connor, who is returning to speak to DRMA members on 8/20, will present on Setting Expectations for 2027 and Beyond, where he will help business leaders understand what is coming next, how it will affect their industry, and where to focus when conditions change. Connor is a dynamic, interesting, and entertaining speaker. You will not be disappointed! Thank you to our presenting sponsor, KeyBank! Register here to get the early bird discount ending 7/24.

Consider the DRMA Business Leads service as a source for connecting with potential customers who are looking for manufacturing suppliers. And remember to use the service if you are over capacity and need to outsource work. Email Shay and she’ll explain the process.

Attention Manufacturer members: Click here to see manufacturing-pertinent resumes I have received.

DRMA extends our deepest sympathies to the family of Ronald L Slanker, who passed away last week. Ron was the founder of ICAM and a former DRMA member.
