Dear Parents/Guardians of the Aristoi Class of 2026,
In past years, as an inauguration into the School of Rhetoric, Aristoi Classical Academy has prepared freshmen to live out the virtues they are learning on campus through a field trip to The Brookwood Community, a non-profit residential and vocational community for adults with disabilities. While your sophomore did not have this opportunity as a freshman, I am excited to announce that he/she will be able to do so in January. Aristoi faculty and staff will chaperone the 10A and 10C homerooms on January 17, 2024 and the 10B and 10D homerooms on January 18, 2024 as students build relationships and work alongside the residents of Brookwood in their vocations.
Your student will bring home a permission slip on Friday, January 5, 2024 that includes the date of their trip. All students will travel to Brookwood on buses provided by Aristoi Classical Academy. There is no cost for the serve day, but students will need to bring a sack lunch from home or purchase one from Aristoi’s Child Nutrition Department. You also will receive an email to sign up for a sack lunch on Friday, January 5, 2024. Students should turn in their field trip permission slips to their homeroom teacher no later than Friday, January 12, 2024.
We look forward to continuing this rich tradition of encouraging our students to take personal responsibility for the good through this service opportunity. Please reach out to me or my assistant, Kelly Miller at kmiller@aristoiclassical.org if you have any questions.
Warm Regards,
Kathryn Locheed
