For the past 5 years, Frame of Mind has reached out to the art community with their annual call to artists for their Juried Art
Exposition.

This is a celebration of artists of all ages, background, medias, and styles.
This Exposition has grown from a few local artists to an international
event, with participants from allover the United States and even London.
Each year, the work of the artists is judged by 2-3 local, influential artists to not only help these participants grow and learn, but to
find the best of the best each year.

🎥 🍿Art in the Movies🎨 🖼
Klimt is a 2006 Austrian art-house biographical film about the life of the Austrian Symbolist
painter Gustav Klimt (1862–1918).
It was written and directed by Chilean filmmaker Raúl Ruiz. Gustav Klimt lived his life like he painted it, full of intensity, sensuality and passion. In this biographical fantasy by acclaimed director Raúl Ruiz (Time Regained), Klimt (John Malkovich) recalls the decadence of his past in feverish visions from his deathbed. Reflecting on his many torrid affairs and his struggles for artistic freedom, he travels back to the 1900 World Exhibition in Paris. There, Klimt is introduced to a mysterious dancer, Lea de Castro (Saffron Burrows), who emerges as his muse and the personification of his own erotic ideals and carnal desires.
Gustav Klimt was born in Vienna, in 1862, into a lower middle-class family of Moravian origin. His father, Ernst Klimt, worked as an engraver and goldsmith, earning very little, and the artist's childhood was spent in relative poverty. The painter would have to support his family financially throughout his life.
In 1876, Gustav Klimt was awarded a scholarship to the Vienna School of Arts and Crafts (Kunstgewerbeschule), where he studied until 1883, and received training as an architectural painter. He revered the foremost history painter of the time, Hans Makart. Klimt readily accepted the principles of a conservative training; his early work may be classified as academic. In 1877 his brother Ernst, who, like his father, would become an engraver, also enrolled in the school. The two brothers and their friend Franz Matsch began working together; by 1880 they had received numerous commissions as a team they called the "Company of Artists", and helped their teacher in painting murals in the Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna.

🦋🦉🦓 International Wildlife Film Fest and Wild Walk Parade kicks off on Earth Day April 22nd!!
For their 46th year, the IWFF explores the theme of Fight or Flight. This year’s theme refers to the physiological reaction that occurs in response to a perceived harmful event, attack, or threat. The 2023 selections celebrate stories illustrative of all that it takes to survive. Fight or flight actions exist on a spectrum and can refer to the action of flying toward safety, freezing, fleeing, or perhaps a collective reaction to fight for the survival of an animal, on a more abstract level.
They look forward to sharing heartfelt stories reflective of the instinct to survive on their screens as well as behind the camera. Stay tuned for their schedule of events and screenings!
