ABOUT PAWC

The Pan American Wushu Championships (PAWC) are the highest-level intercontinental competition within the sport of wushu. This biennial event began in 1996 and always captures the excitement and range of wushu, both in the action-packed sanda bouts and the dynamic movements and distinct weaponry of taolu forms competition.

ELIGIBILITY

Pan-American countries will register through their respective national wushu federations, following their own selection methods and unified registration through their wushu federations.All PAWC

U.S. Participants must be U.S. citizens and valid members of USAWKF. Registration must be coordinated through USAWKF.

PAWC Adult Championship Group:

Athletes from Teams A, B, and C selected in Texas in May 2023 can register to participate. There may also be allowances for substitutes or a small number of additional spots, with the final number of registrations to be decided by USAWKF.

PAWC Junior Championship Group:

Athletes from Teams A, B, and C selected in California in May 2024 can register to participate. There may also be allowances for substitutes or a small number of additional spots, with the final number of registrations to be decided by USAWKF.

PAWC Traditional Competition Group:

Athletes can only register for traditional events such as Shaolin, Taiji, Wing Chun/Cai Li Fo, etc. Athletes who have qualified through USAWKF-authorized traditional selection competitions within the two years are eligible to register.


PAWC Sanda Registration:

Athletes must have qualified through the Texas selection in 2023 or the selection in Arizona in July 2024 to register for participation.

ABOUT PAWT

The Pan American Wushu Tournament (PAWT), is a further expansion of the Golden State Wushu Championships, sanctioned by both PAWF and the USAWKF. This large-scale intercontinental open tournament welcomes participation from international wushu organizations and enthusiasts. Events include contemporary wushu, traditional kungfu, and tai chi qigong, featuring competitions such as sparring and group performances. It is suitable for athletes of all ages and skill levels, from beginner to intermediate and advanced.

ELIGIBILITY

Welcome Wushu groups, and individuals from around the world to participate.

Except for the United States and Canada, representative teams from Pan-American countries must obtain approval from their national Wshu federations to register for participation.

US Teams, Schools, individual athletes and other non Pan American countries and regions can register freely.

The competition of PAWT can also serve as the selection tournament for the USA Kungfu Team. Athletes who are U.S. citizens or green card holders, and are current members of USAWKF, can select “Kungfu Team Trials” in the registration system to participate in the Kungfu selection.
