Organ Donor Registration & Comp Plan Progress
Last Wednesday's Village Board work session included a visit from Frank Fish of BFJ Planning, the consulting firm that the Village's Comprehensive Plan Steering Committee has recommended to help guide our comp plan update. We also heard from Town/Village Clerk Sue Donnelly about a new approach to tag parking on the municipal lots which will involve some code changes and an update to the village fee schedule. Daytime and overnight parking in village lots is one small piece of the parking challenges that the Village is making improvements to this year.
We also discussed anticipated updates to Village event permits. Event organizers, local businesses and residents impacted by events are invited to attend a Stakeholder Meeting on Monday, February 24 at 6pm at the Community Center to provide input on recommendations for a new approach to events that will provide predictability and consistency with events going forward.

Wednesday's Legislative Session
This week's meeting includes moving forward with remediation of 200 Main Street, the historic Bank for Savings at the gateway to our Main Street. The expense of this project is largely offset by a grant awarded at the end of 2019. The work being undertaken will be on the interior of the building, and will prepare it to take on a new life after decades of vacancy. One of the changes in the neighborhood that would add to the viability of this iconic building is a redesign of Route 9. The Village is continuing to pursue efforts with the NYS DOT to make changes that would include additional parking on Highland Avenue.
