September 2024 Newsletter

Greetings, Friends!

As summer wraps up and fall begins, we’re excited to share some fantastic updates and news about what’s ahead. Thanks to your support, our summer programming was a success and our annual personal finance and economic education conference a highlight. Be sure to save the date for next year’s conference and check out our calendar card for all upcoming teacher and student programming, specifically designed to inspire and support you.

Why not kick off the school year by joining our Election Economics and State of the Economy workshops? These sessions will not only help students but will also help you make informed decisions while exercising your civic duty when voting this November. Additionally, based on your feedback, we’re introducing new economics model lessons for 2nd and 3rd grades, adding to our existing resources for 5th and 7th grades. We’re eager to collaborate with you to integrate these updates into your classrooms and make a meaningful impact. Please, consider inviting us for team meetings or in-service days—we’re here to support you!

Looking ahead, applications are now open for our MAEEE degree program. This graduate program is perfect for educators seeking to deepen their expertise and connect with a network of inspiring professionals. Apply by February 1, 2025 to be part of this enriching experience.

In this issue, we celebrate several MAEEE alumni and their achievements. Read on about the Bonnie T. Meszaros Economic Educator of the Year, alumni returning to campus to share their insights, and other inspiring stories. And, speaking of Dr. Meszaros, a heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributes to the Bonnie T. Meszaros Faculty and Staff Support Fund. Your generosity has a profound impact on K-12 economic, personal finance, and entrepreneurship education.

Thank you for your dedication, and for encouraging new educators to sign up for our newsletter and join our events. Your support helps us build a vibrant educational community. Here’s to a productive and rewarding school year ahead!

Onward,
