The First 100 Babies

In 2021, we launched the Stronger Together Doula Support program.

In 2022, the first baby was born with the support of an HMHB trained doula.

Today, we celebrate 100 babies born with Stronger Together!

That's 41 baby girls and 59 baby boys...

including three sets of twins!

Babies born with the support of HMHB's first doula cohort are turning three this year!

The first doula baby was born on

June 28, 2022.

The 100th doula baby was born on

April 28, 2025!

81% of our doula babies were born in a healthy weight range.

67 moms initiated breastfeeding.

71 babies had skin to skin contact after delivery.

When the program was launched, we served women in a specific neighborhood where we saw higher rates of maternal morbidity and mortality.

As the program has grown, we now offer doula support to women across the county.

Trained to Transform

All of these births were supported by Stronger Together Doulas - 104 women in total have been trained to date.

This growing network provides compassionate and knowledgeable support to women and families throughout pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period. In addition to meeting the core requirements for doula certification, through Stronger Together these doulas receive enhanced education and hands-on experience, equipping them to transform the birth experiences of women in our community.
