Join us this Thursday, 18th Dec 2025, 4:00 PM EAT for our LabCoP Special ECHO session on navigating new Global Health Cooperation Models: Implications for African Laboratory Systems
The global health landscape is experiencing major shifts in financing priorities, cooperation models, and accountability mechanisms, with several African countries currently navigating new partnership instruments that may influence future funding and technical support. These emerging frameworks reflect a broader reset in global health partnerships, introducing new expectations around pathogens sharing and benefit, data use, surveillance, capacity-building, and financial accountability. Because laboratory systems sit at the center of disease surveillance, diagnostics, and public health response, such changes have direct implications for investment flows, data governance, workforce stability, infrastructure sustainability, and national ownership.
It is important that countries understand these developments and consider their potential impacts on laboratory system resilience.
In this session, we seek to help countries understand and interpret these shifts and strengthen their decision-making. The session will provide an impartial space to review emerging examples of new cooperation frameworks, discuss key questions for laboratory leaders and policymakers, and introduce practical tools for evaluating MOUs and similar agreements. The webinar will focus on technical, structural, and governance considerations, supporting countries to navigate evolving global health partnerships while safeguarding long-term laboratory system sustainability.
